Wonderful...but watch the sizing.
I have to start by saying that I read a lot of reviews before ordering this shirt. Most people were stating that it runs small. I took this to heart when ordering. I normally wear a size 6 and sometimes an 8 if a clothing item runs on the small side. That equates to a size small to medium most of the time. But heeding warnings of most reviewers I ordered this shirt in a size Large. I'm glad that I did.I would say that this shirt runs a bit small through the shoulders and bust. I am a 36 B bra size and the large works very nicely. The waist and hips are a bit lofty for me in a size large, but if I had ordered the size medium to fit better there, the shoulders would have been too tight. Better to be too roomy then unfomfortable. The shirt tapers in at the waist and then flairs out at the hips. That part looks a bit odd on me, as my hips don't fill out the shirt at the bottom. That said, I still LOVE the shirt...so much so that I ordered it in several other colors. The fabric is nice and sturdy but it breathes like crazy and is so nice and cool. It also dries in a snap, making this shirt ideal for travel. What I like most about the shirt is that it is ideal for hiking, and it goes from trail to town seamlessly. You can wear it anywhere and look very nice, even after tromping through a woods in the heat. I will say that my shirts did arrive a bit wrinkly and I have yet to put them through the wash. It will be interesting to see how they emerge from the washing machine. For contrast I have several other Columbia Silver Ridge shirts in a different style and in those I wear a size small! C'mon Columbia...let's get our act together and stop putting your shoppers through this guessing game of sizing. The quality and functionality of these shirts makes them worth the trouble and I say a special thank you to all of you who took the time to write your reviews. They are VERY helpful to the rest of us.

Functional and flattering! Everything I'd expect from an outdoor shirt!
I love this shirt and have gotten a lot of use out of it. It does everything the product description says it does. It's very breathable and is comfortable in a pretty broad range of temperatures. I've worn it as a mid layer over a tshirt and under a fleece zip-up on a hike that started out at 33 degrees in the morning, and had taken off the fleece within a few miles and was comfortablely warm. I've also worn it while working in the garden when it was in the 90s because I wanted protection from sun and weeds that always make me itch- I wouldn't say I was nice and cool in the shirt in that kind of heat/activity level, but I was cooler than I've been in any other long sleeve shirt that has UV protection that I've ever owned. It works best for me though for outdoor activities in temperatures in the 60s -70s.The fabric is very quick drying. I always hang dry this shiry, and its dry in a matter of hours. When I've been caught in the rain while wearing it, or had a sweaty back under my backpack, it takes no time at all to dry if you're out in the sun. It does repel water if its not too heavy of a downpour and not prolonged. Also repels dirt and stains pretty well.My favorite features of this shirt are how the "outdoor technical gear" features (such as the vents and sun collar) are functional yet well enough hidden that the shirt looks good enough to wear around town. In fact, I didn't even realize the shirt had an expandable sun collar until it got unfolded in the washing machine. This has become one of my favorite uses of the shirt, but you'd never know it's there when you aren't using it.As for the fit and style, I followed the size chart and it fits true to size. It is tailored and slim-fitting, but not tight, and I can wear a snug-fitting light layer underneath. It's a good length- you can move around and lift your arms without exposing your back or stomach. I usually wear a size small or medium (6 or 8) shirt and I bought this shirt in a medium (size 8-10), based on the size chart measurements. I'd recommend sizing up if you want a relaxed fit or are at the upper end of the measurements range for the size you are considering.

Not The Same Size As The Solid Color Ones
I love love love the silver ridge solid color shirts. I have the solid one in 3 colors and the medium fits me perfectly. That one washes and wears great with no ironing required. The plaid ones on the other had come out of the dryer somewhat wrinkled and the sizing is funny. I bought several mediums to try and the size went from somewhat small to way too small. Also, the one I washed actually shrank when I washed it. Then it definitely had gaps. I didn't have this problem with the solid color ones I have. I sent back the mediums in favor of the large but they are big on me and not the sleek fitted look of the solid color ones I have. One last thing I noticed is that the pricing varies alot, even from day to day. One of the mediums I returned was about $33. When I went to buy it in a large it was $45. That's a big difference for the exact same shirt. Added a picture of how big the large is on me. The exact shirt in a medium was way too tight. Very frustrating. Otherwise great fabric and color.

I really wanted to love this shirt
I haven't decided yet if I should return or not. The fabric feels nice but there's not a lot of stretch so definitely not forgiving. I ordered a large and had to return for an XL. Once I got the new size, I noticed the gaping holes between the buttons. Take a look at the photo and notice how far the buttons are spaced? Well, for a busty female, this is a no-no. I'm going to need to us a couple of safety pins in order for this shirt to be functional for me. another thing I noticed is, since the shirt is not stretchable, I might find it uncomfortable hiking/climbing through terrain that requires boulder hopping and overall extreme mobility. when i tried stretching out, my shoulders/arms felt very restrictive and wondered if I would perform well while fatigued and carrying a backpack. The shirt fabric feels great and it looks amazing on me (if I don't move and simply just stand still) it compliments my curves so well that I do want to keep it but as an active shirt, it falls short for me. I am a curvy 12/L/XL 170/5'3 female (busty and carry a higher amt of my fat in my arms). So disappointed it didn't work out for me. I guess I'll try Patagonia!

Super arrugada

Toller Stoff, tolle Farbe, leider suboptimale Passform
