Using a password that small for AES-256 is a bit like putting a steel door on a tent. With that strength AES-128 would have been fine. I bought this to keep some sensitive files in offline storage and wanted a medium that was encrypted should I lose it (not that I intend to transport or use it frequently).It came formatted Fat32 which I changed to ExFat. It was a little odd how it works, but after a quick google and checking their site I had figured it out.Once plugged in it shows as a DVD drive. You "run" it just like a DVD and then a small program opens and guides the setup process. It allows setting up the security and then after finalizing the settings it then shows in Windows file explorer as a USB drive (the DVD part remains). At this point you drag and drop/copy files over just like any other USB drive.When plugging it back in later you run the DVD portion again to enter the password to "unlock" the USB storage. A little clunky, but if you use it as a place for long term storage its likely a non issue. I would presume other devices like this work in a similar fashion but do not know.Also seems well made, a metal body I think with some heft to it. Did not do any extensive testing of read/write speeds but it really isnt made for speed, its made for security.
