Requires BIOS setting changes to work
First day review of WD 19 dock with XPS 13 9380. I have had nothing but dock issues following the latest 9380 BIOS update. Problems include intermittent connection to monitor, failure to work properly with a simple USB switching hub, and computer shutting down repeatedly requiring force restart. I followed all instructions when connecting this new dock and had the same issues. Then I came across this article: Dell USB-C and Thunderbolt Docks (WD15, TB16, TB18DC, WD19, WD19TB, WD19DC, D6000) - BIOS Settings and Driver Installation for Troubleshooting This article will guide you through the installation and basic troubleshooting process for Dell USB-C and Thunderbolt Docking Stations WD15, TB16, TB18DC, WD19, WD19TB, WD19DC, and D6000. Last Modified:13 Mar, 2020 Article ID:SLN308303 I followed the instructions to update the BIOS settings, and the dock now works properly. Be advised that NOT all of the options mentioned are available in the 9380 BIOS including “enable USB power share” and “allow USB-C dock support”. For now, the dock is working. I did need to plug the USB switching hub into the front USB port on the dock. I hope this helps and good luck. DELL could be a bit more clear about these issues.

Worked well, but had to return
I accidentally purchased the non TB version, and had to return to order the correct one. When I did have it, however, it worked just as expected. My TV was cutting in and out for about 5 minutes (flashing like every 2-6 seconds), but stopped after some time. Not sure if it was just that unit, or a firmware issue. I updated all the things I could, but it didn't resolve the issue. Just letting it run for some time and it went away. Seemed to happen less the following day, but was still annoying when it was. I contacted the seller, asking for a refund to return the unit, simply because I purchased the wrong one. They accepted my return, so long as I returned everything. I packed up everything as best I could, even with the bags, and sent it back. Highly recommend the seller, but just be aware that if your computer has a TB connection, you should get the TB version (it's faster, although the HDMI didn't work for me anymore for no apparent reason, despite it having an HDMI port, but it is a common issue).

Would leave zero stars if I could
Docking station was listed as "used - near mint." When the docking station arrived, there were multiple deep scratches all over the unit. The power button was missing paint and there was electrical tape around the USB-C connector. I was willing to overlook the cosmetic issues, but when I plugged the unit in, it didn't power up at all. Returned it immediately.

Great docking station
Have worked with many docking stations in my life, and this one is the best overall. Simple, trouble-free dock that I use with my LG Gram laptop and my IOgear KVM switch. Super convenient. Also bought one for my girlfriend who was having all sorts of docking station issues with her HP laptop. This Dell dock solved all those problems.

Get it while you can
This is the only dock station that kind of works and I tried them all - Targus, Kensington, Plugable, HP, CalDigit, whatever.. all have issues! This only gave me two problems with my fleet of laptops so far, which compared to other docks - are very minor: monitors didn't come on on SP7 after cold boot the very first time and out of the blue USB hub stopped working when it was plugged in to my ThinkPad, which got fixed by unplugging the dock and plugging it back in. Now, the main issue with these docks is that they are EOL and being replaced with WD19S and WD19TBS. Dell folks claim the only difference is that built-in DAC was removed in the S versions, but apparently that is not true. I got the WD19S, thinking that it will resolve the USB hub issue, as there are less devices attached to it, but it had charging issues, where after sometime it stops charging the laptop so you have to replug the dock. It seems like they actually changed the PD controller and who knows what else, so the dock is completely different. Get WD19 while there is still stock...

East set up
Easy set up, works just right for my desk needs. Small enough not to be in the way of desktop items.

A Good Thing to Have
The order was delivered on time. It allowed me to work from home and add a second monitor. A third monitor could be installed as well.

displayport issues
The dock has 1 hdmi port and 2 display ports. Now, I don't know if its the laptop or the dock but I can't get the display ports to work properly. For whatever reason the video quality is semi blurry and stuck at 1080p res. At first I didn't think too much about it because I am using two monitors that are 4k and 1440p and I just thought the laptop graphics might not be strong enough so the dock or whatever capped the resolution to 1080p thats fine not too big of deal but the blurriness was annoying me and I knew that was not normal. And, then I thought maybe its my display port cable might be broken, so I switched out my display port cables three different cables, and still all of them semi-blurry at 1080p. Even tested it with my other computer and the cables work at 4k @60 hz with display port and no issue. So then I decided to not use display port and just go both hdmi, but the problem is of course that the dock only has one hdmi port, so I had to plug the other hdmi directly into my laptop, which only had one input which is hdmi and its not blurry anymore. The monitor's do register with 4k res and my other monitor1440p however is capped at 1080p, but its not blurry anymore. So, without another dell laptop its hard to 100% determine if this dock is defective, but I do know the laptop works dual monitors at my work that are both 1080p, so i'm leaning towards issue with the dock.

I used so many adaptors for my Dell laptop to connect mic, wireless keyboard & mouse, screens, etc. But none worked properly and I always had compatible issues (low power). This adaptor was PERFECT and made my life much easier. A bit pricy but highly recommended.
