Good poop catchers, stayed in place well
I was provided some paper baskets to use for a 3-day stool test, and I couldn't figure it how that would turn out well, so I came to Amazon looking for a different solution to catch the poop hands-free. These were great! I needed 3, so the 5-pack gave me room for a couple oopsies if it happened. It did. The first one I used, I placed it a little behind center of my oval toilet seat. That was too far back and I was disappointed that the poop apparently hit the edge but fell in the toilet. After that I placed this about in the middle of the toilet seat and that was perfect placement for me - winner every time after that! I had to dig around with a tiny little scoop to sample from different places in the poop and this thing held tight during all the digging while it was still suspended from the toilet seat. Wipes tend to clog plumbing where I live so I didn't want to take a chance and flush these, but I tipped the basket over to dump out the poop and then put the poop catcher in a gallon ziplock bag and threw it away. Clean up was super easy. My advice is get 1-2 more than you need in case there's a learning curve, but once you find the right placement these are really easy to use and help make an unpleasant task easier.

Easy, no issue, no headache
I never had to collect a stool sample so I didn’t know where to begin. I read about some things & decided to purchase these little things to catch the stool of my son. He’s autistic so I figured he wouldn’t have wanted to poop onto it but he did with no issue. I explained that i needed to keep it dry so he had to poop on this. It was easy to put on, take off. The only thing is I was confused because it says flushable but the paper says it isn’t so I just tossed it in a little bag to put in the garbage. I’d say purchase this if you have to collect a stool sample at home!

These are perfect for not getting your hands dirty!
I participated in a gut biome study a while back and these were part of their stool sample collection kits. I thought they were super nifty and made collecting the stool sample far less disgusting than I'd envisioned it would be. AND THEN My 8 year old kid, who is definitely old enough to know better than to put coins in her mouth, put a quarter in her mouth and then, of course, accidentally swallowed it. She had some chest pain so we went to the ER and had some Xrays where we saw the coin hovering in her esophagus. She ate some food and then we had more Xrays and then we saw it was in her stomach. I know what experienced parents are thinking and yes, *usually* the coins go through with no problem. But this was a quarter and the doc was slightly more concerned about it making its way through her digestive system without getting caught, so we were instructed to check every poop to verify the coin passed. We tried using a metal detector at first, but it is surprisingly cumbersome to dial in to the proper sensitivity and to keep the stupid sensor hovered at just the right distance above the poopy water. Then I remembered using these awesome, fantastic, splendidly wonderful poop hammocks for the gut microbacteria study I'd participated in and, of course, found them on Amazon. Hovering that metal detector over the piles of voided material was easy peasy! It was also much easier to chopstick my way through the patty when we finally got that "beep beep beep" to verify the coin than I imagine it would've been to do in a bowl of water. Anyway, these are great and you should probably just get them if you've come looking for a thing like this.

NOT fail-proof as advertised
I purchased one package of 5 for a 3-day stool test. So far, two have failed and I've only completed day 1 of the test. First, one of them tore while trying (carefully) to remove the adhesive strip covers, rendering it useless. Second, another fell into the toilet containing a not particularly large stool sample, despite being carefully stuck to the toilet seat. I wish now I'd just purchased one of those sturdy plastic containers that sit under the seat and lined it with plastic wrap. The "flushable" characteristic of this product also, unfortunately, makes it flimsy.
