Also be sure darts are loaded evenly and uniformly. Also be sure your batteries are fully charged. I keep extras ready to go. Rechargeables are great, but they peak at 1.4volts and most run about 1.2 volts. Alkaline batteries start at about 1.5 to 1.6 and drop slowly to about 1.2 at which time they are about done. You can also look for NiZn batteries which are overvoltage and run at 1.6 to start, are rechargeable and drop to about 1.4 for most of the time. They also have the advantage of more rapid recovery between shots.
