Quiet and works great
Great product! The grinding wheel slowly reduces the nail. And the fact that it is quiet does not frighten our 4-legged family member.

Good
Works well. My puppy kind of hates it, but she gets used to it after a few minutes. Way better than when I was trying to use clippers instead. Super easy to use, battery lasts a long time. Good quality and not super loud.

Great for dogs that can't handle nail trimmers
This does have a charging cable with it. However, heaven only knows where it may be now. One thing I would suggest is that it came with a pouch and an extra grinder wheel. Thankfully, I ordered a second one when I ordered this, but with 2 dogs, meaning 8 paws, it tends to wear down fast. Only issue now, is not sure where the charging cable went. I have a feeling it got tossed out with the box as I was trying to keep everything together. This is why 4 stars as I really would suggest a pouch of some kind to keep everything together. It's not very loud and it does the job, much better than clippers. I have a set of those as well, but it's not worth the fight. This works better.

Quiet,small and easy to use
I have a 120 lb red nose and he hates is nails trimmed. Ive used conventional trimmers and it's always a battle and time consuming. I've used a cordless mini Dremel grinder and it was too loud it scared him too much to trim. I now us this adjustable grinder and it's quieter than any other one I've ever heard. Has a safe guard so I don't go to deep and makes it easier to grind through the curve. Game changer, hes never bothered by it. Makes trimming a breeze. Haven't had long so don't know about actually battery life or product longevity yet but for the price it's worth it. Super light, quick and quick charge.

GET IT
Background: My dog is a 9 year old lab who has always hated having her nails trimmed, but I’ve noticed it has gotten worse with age. I have tried clippers myself with both her and I having extreme anxiety with absolutely no results, usually ending in tears for myself. She has gotten to the point where we would have to bring her to the vet to get her nails trimmed only after she is given trazodone, which still makes it a whole dramatic ordeal because she doesn’t respond to it well even after taking 4 throughout 12 hours per the vet’s instructions. The vet would have to muzzle her and pick her up (70lbs) and put her in a head/leg lock position with me and her dad comforting her. Even then, she would flail and kick her legs. Each nail trim with the vet would result in her being scared and uncomfortable, me being heart broken because I felt like I had no other option, and the vet and assistant(s) stressed for their own safety. Actual Review: We have had this tool for two days. I wanted to slowly introduce it to her, so i set it on the table for a couple of hours, set it on the floor, let her sniff and nudge it with her nose, turned it on and off and on again multiple times and let it run while she examined it. We decided to do one paw a night. First night she did not like it, but was able to let us get a paw done (i would’ve NEVER thought!!) we still had to hold her in a sort of bear hug with me hugging around her hips with her leg in between my arms and paw in my hands. It works easier if you hold the top of the nail while it is on the file to reduce the “wobbling” of the nail on the file. We gave her multiple breaks and treats to keep her motivated and comfortable. Day 2 was almost flawless!!! The other foot we got two nails done in the same positioning as the day prior, she let us do two nails in one go! We then gave her a break and a treat. Then she went and sat on her bed. I went over to her with the tool and was able to sort of hug around her loosely and she let me do the rest of her toes without running away, kicking, or flailing!!! This tool is a blessing and has allowed me to feel like I can make my baby girl comfortable while taking care of her and I am so proud of her for being so brave! The drill is quiet, but does get louder when against the nail. It is very similar to the sound of an electric nail file at a nail salon. The size is perfect to navigate with and the fast speed helps get a nail done quickly. 100/10!!!

WARNING** Long-haired owners tie back hair/loose articles before use. DONT USE ON LONG HAIRED PETS.
I gave this product three stars. The reason being is because the product does file pets nails relatively less stressfully, as when a dog nail clippers are in use- if done safely and properly. The product does seem to be of relatively good quality/materials. That being said, my concern lies in the fact that there are virtually zero safety precautions for material or hair entanglement regarding the presence of any automatic shut off when increased resistance is met. Most other products with rotating components (I.e. handheld fans, vacuum cleaners) can detect if a snag is detected at which point the motor stops spinning and shuts off until the device is cleared of snags and restarted. In this situation, a single strand of my hair came in contact with rotating end of the dog nail grinder, and it started twisting until an entire chunk of my hair became fully entangled, which happened over the course of approximately 1-2 seconds. The device continued spinning and spinning and I could not get the sliding on/off switch to slide off because the device continue to spin in my hand. The device was very hot, almost smoking, because of the amount of hair entangling, but it did not turn off. This had me greatly concerned, not just for myself, but for my dog. Because my dog is a long-haired mixed breed (Bernedoodle, or Poodle and Bernese Mountain Dog mix), her hair could easily become stuck in the twisting mechanism. Especially because she is also a large breed, meaning we cannot use the included plastic nail guard due to the size and shape of her nails. At which point, this would be much a more painful and traumatizing experience than just using a regular nail clipper, and I do not want to traumatize her… or myself. I feel like if the rotary mechanism senses a snag or a tangle in the rotating bit, it should have a safety feature that automatically shuts it off so that people and/or their pets do not have hair (or other loose articles) incidentally damaged, burned, ripped out, or removed. The reason I gave 3 stars instead of 1 is because I understand that this issue is partially my fault and in the future, I would tie my hair back fully if I were to use it again. Also it’s not an entirely useless product, but can only be safely used (in my opinion) on smaller, shorter haired breeds. With that being said, I am glad this happened to me rather than my pet because I was able to easily cut the affected strands of my hair that were burned and frayed off and am physically unharmed, although my hair does look very strange now since this large strand was in the very front. Regardless, I take some responsibility for the incident, however, I don’t want my situation to happen to any long haired pets in the future and hope the company makes some safety adjustments to the product. One thing that could significantly improve safety would be to include an overall larger grinding bit that also includes a larger plastic safety guard with a bigger opening for large breed dogs, so that their nails can be filed safely with decreased risk for tangling, ripping, tugging, etc. As mentioned, I was not able to use the provided guard that comes with the product because my dogs nails are simply too wide/thick to keep the guard on. If you have a small pet with thinner nails, the guard would likely better protect you/your pet or reduce the risk of entanglement by probably 90%. In conclusion, I will likely not use this on my long haired dogs, but I would be willing to try the product again on my short haired, smaller dog (Boston terrier) because the risk for entanglement is minimal to none (for the pet), and I can use the file guard that is included with the product. Of course, my hair will be tied back next time… I hope this helps someone make a more informed decision on purchasing this product.

It’s not too loud and after the 3rd use our miniature dachshund didn’t even pull his paws away or try to get away like he does with the clippers. His stress level is normally very high when it comes time to get his nails trimmed but this time when we used this file he was very relaxed. Even closed his eyes a few times. Highly recommend! It’s taking a bit of time for me to make sure I’m holding it on the right angle but it’s easy to use and is definitely working to shorten his nails. I would buy again!
