No respectable modern bird owner would use a chain of ANY type for ANY reason to train or keep their bird. There is absolutely no excuse for that. The only aceptable form of restraint is a properly fitted flight harness. Anything else is a barbarism of the past, from when we did not know better what is best for our aviancompanions. **Q: Why is there a chain around the birds leg??** A: I definitely want to know! I’ve never seen anyone do this to a feathered companion, especially to one so small. I have been a caretaker to birds of prey (under USFW permits for education) and we did use jesses and anklets, but nothing like a freaking ball and chain. Who does that? **Q: Why does this poor bird have a permanent chain connected to it's leg? They were not cleaned up after they were molded, so it was impossible to get the lids on. Also, I have spring action swing doors on my parakeet cage and they did not fit the opening. I am assuming the Parrot feeders are probably larger, so they may fit the door opening. It’s not tall enough for it to fit perfect on my cage. ### ⭐ too much negative items to review with limited space.....dont waste your money *by J***E on October 21, 2020* Ready... spent 40 years on the plastic injection molding business.....we did custom products that we build per the customers drawings...along the way we would advise if they wanted a cheap product to go to the molders on the other side of town... this feeder had bad engineering, causing the part to be to thin and warped so much that the mating part would not fit....my wife gave it to me and I couldn't make it fit either... poor grade of cheap plastic...how much regrind looks like too much...too fast of cycle time...drill a hole for the screw but they left a huge burr in the inside that would have to me cut off...drill speed too fast and melted the plastic....life of this product is max 6-12 months ? This makes me be a lot more careful as to what I purchase on Amazon now. with a made in China label ,should I even have thought abought buying this...
