Wanted to love these so much
I’ve been eyeing this set for awhile. I’ve looked and looked and sets and the design of this one is clean, modern and unpretentiousness. When I received the box it was torn but I’m going to trash that anyways. It wasn’t a gift so it wasn’t an issue. BUT it’s only been a YTD and these don’t hold up the way I hoped. They seem to spot easier than other sets I’ve had. Perhaps it’s the satin finish. There were two utensils that had sharp edges and I hurt my mouth so I had to toss those. Once I had an incompetent set I was less fussy about washing them. Things got real LOL. With real life treatment they would pit/scratch and then rust pretty easily. In fairness, maybe this last thing I mention is partly my fault. I’ve been a fan of gourmet setting but this just WASN’T a good product. Skip it.

Happy to have found these
Many years ago I had this exact set of silverware and loved it. Then I moved, but the silverware didn’t come with me. I always looked for it at retail stores but never found it, or if I did, couldn’t justify it at the time. I finally broke down and purchased the set again. I am very happy with it but thought it was a little sturdier back when I first had it.

Almost identical
I purchased these to match our existing utensils. This set is almost identical so very pleased.

Looks more pricey than it is
Gourmet Settings Non Stop 20-Piece Flatware Set, Service for 4 I have already owned one setting of this for about 2 years. I can tell you the finish is not the best and eventually little rust looking spots appear, but that could be my washing methods. I abhor washing dishes by hand so I use the dishwasher religiously. The silverware has a nice heft, looks good and is inexpensive. There are four settings. You get a salad fork, a normal fork for stabbing meat, a nice hefty knife for cutting my rubber chicken, a soup spoon and a smaller spoon for whatever you use a small spoon for. So there are twenty pieces in all. It states there is a tarnish-resistant 18/10 stainless steel with a satin finish. The satin finish is another part of the silverware I absolutely love. I suppose I could contact them about the “rust” since it has a 50 year warranty but honestly it is too much effort to go through all that and the price is completely reasonable for something to last a few years to me.I really like this silverware with it’s squared off spoons and the meaty feeling handles. I shopped in the big stores looking for something comparable and never really found anything to my liking. This actually looks quite a bit like some silverware I like that are used at a tapas restaurant nearby. I looked up that silverware and discovered the price was about five times what I paid for this silverware set.If you found my review helpful I would appreciate that you click the “Yes” button to let me know that I am providing useful information to you and others.

Now I have 3 sets
I bought one set and liked it so I imediately bought another set. Then years later and more people in the house... and I suddenly found myself needing more. I was thinking... dang, I don't want to find another whole set and have to buy three new sets. But I looked around and found these and I'm not even sure how I found them to be honest. In any case... these are awesome. The definition of good flatware is that it has some heft. My test? Can I scoop rock hard ice-cream with it and not have it bend? With these the answer is yes. I am not sure many flatware spoons out there can handle such a task but these do. In fact, I don't even have an ice-cream scooper at my house right now because of this.Over time I have found that there will periodically be a small spot of... rust? I'm not sure what it is but it is brownish in color and will result when the knife is let to dry with standing water on it (i.e. someone washes it but doesn't set it vertical to let it drip dry). It will scrub off and won't return so if it was metal deep in knife (mostly I've seen it on knives) I would think that it would repeatedly return as once oxidization starts, it generally continues unless addressed. But this goes away so I'm thinking that the water is simply reacting with a small later of the piece - a very, super minor surface rust. Who knows. It cleans up and still is passing the ice-cream test so I'm happy.

A Must!
Originally bought 2 sets from Bed Bath & Beyond. Love the round squared spoons, the matte finish and the heavy weight. Through the years I've lost a few spoons and fork so I was relieved to find the set on Amazon.

Beautiful, dishwasher friendly.
The item was beautifully packaged. It added extra excitement to discovering the contents inside. The size of the silverware in continental. From a website describing this type of silverware is this description: "Continental Size silverware is traditionally popular in European countries. While it is becoming increasingly popular in the US, it is still traditionally European. The set is hallmarked with a longer Dinner Fork, Place Knife, and Soup Spoon."This continental size is similar to traditional dinner flatware, but noticeably larger than place size flatware, which is popular in America. However, European size flatware is increasing in popularity. I was not remotely put off by the size of the flatware, as it fit comfortably in my drawer divider, which is nothing "special", pretty typical flatware organizer. It didn't give me any issues with the dishwasher, either. It also fits comfortable in my hands. In flatware preferences, I require that it is dishwasher safe, because hand washing every spoon, knife and fork seems rather unbearable, if only because of my laziness and penchant for time efficiency. They come out of the dishwasher clean and streak free, retaining their original aesthetic beauty. Usability + aesthetic beauty is a win in my book.It comes with: dinner fork; dinner knife; salad fork; soupspoon; teaspoon. It server four. The Balance style flatware is elegant and modern in its design, but not over-the-top. It is dishwasher safe and unobtrusive in its size. Oh, and they look and feel expensive. All in all, a fantastic buy at the pocket-friendly price of 35 USD. Surprisingly fast 2-day shipping was a great bonus.

High quality
Beautiful. Bought two sets. Even nicer than in the pictures. They have a nice weight to them, feels like quality. Would definitely recommend.

Great set (but the one that Costco had years ago)
I purchased to add to what I thought was the same set I purchased many years ago at Costco. Unless you look closely, you would not see the difference, but there are some subtle differences. The main one being that the Costco ones are stamped with a GS 18/10 mark whereas the new ones are printed with GS 18/C. The different stainless steel (no nickel) give them a better look (less shiny), I just hope that they’ll be as rust resistant as my old set.EDIT: Still looking good after 6 months of use, no rust unlike another reviewer reported.

Rusted almost immediately
I bought this set because it matches an older set I bought from Costco many years ago and I needed to replace some lost pieces. That older set was (and still is) excellent and serves me well. The new set... well, the quality has suffered severely over the years. The metal used for the cutlery is of lower quality (feels much lighter, and more "tin-like") and numerous pieces have rusted after only 2 or 3 weeks of use. Unacceptable, and I will be returning the set with no intention of replacing them with anything from Gourmet Settings.
