(You may skip). A little about me and nails. Growing up with eczema, my mum did not allow me to have nail polish on. I studied in private school all through out and we were not allowed "unnatural" nails, as well. After high school was when I slowly began to apply nail polish. Some were kind to me and some caused irritation. The moment did not last long though. I worked as a pastry chef for at least three years. And you guessed it! No nail polish either. I sustained injuries and switched to an office job where we are allowed to wear nail polish. My nail polish chips pretty much the day after though.. and I tried different things to make it work. I tried gel nail polish from a salon twice and it lasted as long as I left it be. A month and a half ago was my sixth anniversary with my significant other and I thought.. why not treat my self to acrylics? I had them done and at first I thought they were lovely. But the following day my coworkers and everyone else who noticed my hand pointed out how bad it was done.. and I then began to realise. It was bloody $90! I had my acrylics painfully removed after three weeks, just so I would not feel bad from having spent so much on it. Might I say, without experience I did a pretty good job as a first timer heh. Ever since then I began to follow heaps of nail profiles on Pinterest and Instagram to learn and be inspired. I never thought I would get so much in this. I looked into SNS which looks complicated, I looked into gel extensions such as GelX but it is too expensive and is not beginner friendly. I then began to look into poly gel and it looked simple, intuitive, and best of all.. affordable! There is definitely a learning curve but so does everything.. but with this kit it is encouraging to practice and get better quicker.. This is my first time actually applying any sort of nail gel. And I reckon as a first timer I did an okay job! I cannot believe how amazing this kit is. It has everything you need. You receive 6 poly gel colours, a top coat, a base coat, 60 nails forms (5 pieces for the 12 different sizes), this nail guide with grids which I will try once I get better hehe, glitter, a filer and a double ended tool with a brush of a right size to spread the poly gel with (I used 99% rubbing alcohol) and a nail pusher. The caps of the double ended tool is quite loose though and does not stay put. A very trivial thing, but I prefer it without the cap anyway so that works! I still cannot believe how affordable this kit is and how many sets you can make. This kit is a fraction of what I would pay for at a nail salon.. and I would definitely buy all the colours once they have more. You can customise it however you want, and I heard it is easy and quick to remove! Another thing I have to work on is prepping my nails.. I need to learn how to file and trim off cuticles. But once again, it will all comes in time!! Three of my girl friends from NoCal will be coming down here in SoCal for Disneyland, and we will definitely do our nails using my kit! My sister and cousin seem really interested in this kit, as well! :-) TLDR.. it is amazing and I love it!

I LOVE this kit! Not for beginners as there is no lamp or slip solution, but my goodness it's full of good stuff. The glitter polygel are beautiful, it's a gold-silver -pink shimmery sparkle and all three are just gorgeous. The 2 glow in the dark are also beautiful springy colors, and the color change! Let's talk about this color, NOT your typical color change where it just gets lighter. This one is a stunning cornflower blue that changes to an even more stunning purpley-pink. Plus you get the best dual forms I have seen in a long time, not curved and with a little lip to help pop them off. I like long long nails sometimes, and these work perfectly as tip forms, too, to get those extra long nails. Then there's the best file on the market, the dual ended brush and picker, and a super cute mermaid bag instead of a box! And most important to me-the polygel is quality. Easy to work with and the colors are always true. This is my favorite kit yet.

I really liked this kit because of the beautiful and fun colors and I found the gel very easy to work with. I’m getting a lot better with poly gel, but still have a lot of improvement to make. The consistency of the gel is nice and thick, I used 91% alcohol since the kit did not come with slip solution. The dual forms worked really well too, probably one of the better brands I’ve tried. The forms have a nice curve/shape and are more firm than there so it’s nice and sturdy and I don’t have to worry about pressing down too hard and the gel coming out of the sides. The only down side to I did have to patch up the sides because the forms are kind of on the narrow side (and I have kind of wide fingers) and if you press the form a little too much the gel moves away from the sides of the nail and you will have to build up color there after. Other than that this is a very nice kit and I would recommend it. I had to find the exact picture of the kit I ordered online because I think they might have changed it now.

Recently with my daughter don't more nails and makeup was inspired to see if we could find something to try at home. This kit worked perfectly! I used some hand sanitizer that had 70% alcohol for slip solution. The only minor negative, the dual forms weren't wide enough for my thumb, but I was able to fill\build the missing part (I've ordered a different set of forms and those fit). I also bought a lamp kit and dehydrator\primer set. I have never done anything other that polish my nails occasionally with regular polish. I was able to do a decent job on my daughter's nails with the glow in the dark green (glowing very brightly right out of the lamp), and then mine in the pink sparkly one. No odor. It was easy to work with. First try and they have lasted over 2 weeks through swimming, sand, gardening, dishes... It will definitely be a product we use for a long time! My mother's nails will be next!

I was soo excited to try this thinking wow I can finally do my own nails without having to go to a salon. Well it still takes some practice. I just plain suck at it. I didnt like the curved forums its comes with but everything else is top notch. The polygel isn't sticky at all and cures nicely. The color change is pretty cool.

I love this kit. When I first opened the Amazon package the Astound box was a little misleading as it said "Nail Gel Enhancement Kit". However, inside the box it clearly stated it was a "poly nail gel kit" which is exactly what I ordered. I find the hybrid polygel so much easier to work with than either a plain gel or an acrylic. The polygel in this kit is a little softer consistency than some I have used, but I found I really like that. It makes it a little easier to shape and spread. The kit was nicely packaged. It included the plastic dual forms (not tips) and also paper stick nail forms if you want to sculpt your own nails instead of using the dual form. It's nice to have both options available. It came with a nice shaped 100/180 nail file. The base and the top coat bottles were each sealed inside little baggies. I love this so if there is some spillage it stays inside the baggie and does not get all over the inside of the kit. The only complaint I have is that the dual forms came all mixed up in one bag. I hate having to sort out the sizes. However, if it helps keep the cost reasonable then I will do the sorting. Oh, it also came with a little container of glitter and, of course, the brush/spatula. It did not have a slip solution included, but 50 to 70% rubbing alcohol works great.

I wont ever ever use Poly gel again. The damage it did from the beginning has scared me forever. I don't even know where to begin. First, the base gel. Even after curing for 2 minutes 30 seconds, my nails were still sticky, like I had just polished them. I couldn't even put a dual form on them without them sticking to them and completely messing up my nails. Second, the moment I opened the poly gel, the sticky mess was every where. And I mean EVERYWHERE!!! Be prepared to find it in places you didn't even touch! Took me forever to clean up that mess and I still keep finding sticky places even on myself and soap doesn't get that mess off. You need an oil based something (makeup wipes, alcohol wipes, cuticle oil, baby oil) to clean that up! Next, curing. OMG it burned sooo bad! I am used to getting my nail done, I have done gel, dip, tips, I've done it all. Every two weeks. Since the pandemic, I've been trying to do my own nails. Never have I had my nails burn so bad. I couldn't even get through the 3rd nail. After 30 seconds in, I quit! I couldn't do it. So I decided to take them off. O - M - G....taking 3 nails off took me over an hour!! First I soaked them in 100% acetone, I did the baggie method, works great on everything else, never takes me than 5-10 minutes. 20 minutes still hard as a rock (AWESOME if I could have actually stood to get them on, they would have lasted FOREVER) next filing with my nail drill....40 minutes later (and choking on the caustic smell even through a mask) they are finally off! NEVER AGAIN IN MY LIFE will I put these things on my nails, not worth it. I will stick to my false tips and dip/gel nails.

I have done 2 sets with this product. My first set lasted a month. It’s really easy to work with and looks absolutely beautiful. It’s also very durable.. they won’t break if you build the nail right. The glitter in the box is one of my favs... I got soo many compliments. I wish they had bigger bottles that I could buy separately but maybe that’s in the works. This will be my go to!
