Bungees and ratchet straps would have been inadequate. I covered everything with a tarp for rain protection, and threw the cargo net on top to secure it.I was a little concerned about the friction-tightened straps when ordering, but they're hella grippy. Almost annoying to deal with when loosening, but that's a good problem to have, given the purpose. I checked the straps every time I stopped to refuel, and only had to retighten/adjust them once; most likely from the cargo itself shifting a bit under the net. In either case, 1800+ miles at highway speeds without incident.Easy to use and easy to store (oversized storage bag means you don't have to be an origami master). Having this net gave me a lot of peace of mind while on the road.Definitely worth the price when it comes to the safety it provides, alone. Regardless, the material quality is excellent.
