Srimad Bhagavatam: First Canto "Creation"(Chapters 1-7) Hardcover – January 1, 1986

Let me begin by saying, Srila Prabhupada's Srimad-Bhagavatam is an excellent translation of this immense "Krishnaite Bible". He provides the primary text in sanskrit transliterated word by word into English for each verse and his commentary on mostly all of the verses.Prabhupada certainly reflects his Gaudiya Vaishnavism views in his commentary and in his views of Sri Chaitanya. That, however, can be a plus or a negative side depending on how you view it. His knowledge of Krishna and his history is second best to none though he does resort to attacking materialists and impersonalists in his commentary.If you are a scholar looking to extract the prime message of Srimad Bhagavatam, much of Srila Prabhupada's commentary is immensely useful even though repetitive at times.The translation is definitely accurate and Srila Prabhupada certainly has the "authority" and experience to translate this text. He has a solid grasp of sanskrit and English and he is familiar with Krishna-Bhakti personally in his life, he is not simply a scholar, which can be a plus for seekers looking for "authenticity". For spiritual seekers focusing on Krishna and Bhakti, this text is essential. I can't think of another full translation of Srimad-Bhagavatam in English other than this text, though its certainly a fine translation. Scholars and Seekers of Krishna alike can benefit from this text.

This book is of great quality and any customer would enjoy owning it. It also is a piece of ancient literature, so it is well worth being part of any library.

I was reading text 23 and there it was mentioned page 113 Text 23 (Attached screenshot) here it's mentioned as "The materialist and foolish human being worship Brahma and Siva respectively" I was so shocked reading it and this was disturbing me alot, as am devoted to Siva and Sri Krishna. And never in my life had differentiated them both.

I love this book and author. I was deceived into buying a different edition and publisher than photo.
