Why is the suggested dose 1 tablet 2 times daily for the 200mcg and only 1 tablet daily of the 100mcg

Those are just suggestions. I take one or two tablets two or three times a week, but no more than 1000mcg per week.

4 years ago I started out taking 200mcg once a day. For the last year or so I have been taking it once or twice a week, 1 or 2 tablets. Usually with food but not always.

You can cut this with a pill cutter. I find that the pill stays intact. The only thing is the pill is not designed to be cut. There is no cut marking as there is on many others, mainly pharmaceuticals, that ensure an even dose is on each half or fourth.in this supplement all of the active ingredient is not evenly distributed meaning it may be all on one ‘side’ due to how it was manufactured. This will vary between each pill. If you cut it in half for instance you may have 150mcg on one side and 50mcg on the other. The difference may be more equal in some halved pills or radically different. This might not be a big deal to you but it is to my son and I because we both take this supplement to replace a pharmaceutical drug. Hope this helps.
