Most powerful micro heli
I bought this along with 4 other tiny infrared controlled helicopters. A colleague in my office got one with a Groupon buy and it intrigued me enough to get my own. There are a bunch of these small helis on the market, and I found this one to be the most powerful. The tail rotor motor is far larger than the Syma copters, and the rotor is bigger as well...which means this thing is FAST! Compared to my Symas, anyway. Also, the battery seems to last a little longer than with my other copters. The iPhone interface is one of the best I have seen...which really counts for a lot. If you have a case on your phone, be prepared to remove it to fly your heli, or get a little extender for your headphone jack. Works great. The only issues I have had with this chopper is that it does not seem quite as durable as some others. The fins are metal instead of plastic, and while I haven't broken any of those, the battery/charger/board seems a little more fragile than the Syma choppers. Also, the balance bar assembly is reversed (with the balance bar under the blades) which means that if you hit the ceiling, the blades fold and it falls fast. It is slow to recover. Another small issue is that it seems to be available in only one color, which makes it difficult if you are flying with friends that have the same toy. Finally, parts for this heli are much tougher to source than parts for the much more common Syma and Double Horse micro helis. Buy this if you want the fastest micro around, but it does take a bit more practice to fly! Of the 5 copters I have (Syma S107G, S111G, S022, S800G, MOTA 6036) I fly this least, and the S111G the most. But I win more races with this!

Disappointed.
Very disappointed - wobbles uncontrollably and cannot get off the ground at all. The first one arrived and could not get more than 2-3 inches off the ground without wobbling out of control and knocking itself out of the air. Amazon refunded my money and I bought a second one. The second one worked for about 10 minutes. After crashing into a soft and comfortable sofa, the second helicopter has the same wobbling problem. Customer service from Motatoys is a joke. Amazon will refund but I just want the dang thing to work. I would not recommend this product, especially for a child. I found it difficult to control and this helicopter is EXTREMELY FRAGILE. Customer service at Motatoys' only solution was to buy more parts. They had no idea what the problem was, they didn't ask what the specific problem was. I said I was having issues and they told me to buy more parts, that will probably fix any problem. - Sad

Pilot Needs More Training
Two years ago, I gave this helicopter to my 19 year old grandson because I wanted to have a toy under the Christmas tree. He had fun setting it up with his iphone and flew it throughout the house. It crashed occasionally, but was sturdy and recovered after each crash. This year I ordered the same helicopter for my 46 year old son for one of his birthday gifts. I got a text soon after, telling me he needed pilot flying lessons. He could go up and down but had not yet conquered the horizontal. What fun!

Works well
I was surprised how well this little thing flies. We haven't used it a lot, so it's hard to say how well it will hold up. It feels fragile, but we have crashed it a few times and flown it into walls and furniture - and still it works fine. It's difficult to fly inside - at least we can't control it well enough to not hit the ceiling, walls, etc. But that makes it kind of fun and challenging.

1 day after Christmas and it's broken.
Let me start by saying my son and I have been through a couple of the sub $30.00 remote control helicopters. We are aware that they break after a few months of 11 year old flying skills. Usually it's the blades or landing gear (which is why they usually supply you with extras). That was to be expected. I thought, OK, another few months with this one but it should be okay because the remote was the iPad instead of a controller, plus one on the cool factor. First of all, it was VERY stable right out of the box. The regular r/c helicopters take some time to get trimmed, etc. The throttle is usually either off or on...this version is set it and it stays at that level...very stable, no spinning, no trimming needed...very nice surprise. Getting used to the controls took some time and the soft landings were not easy at first...but that's when we found a weakness. The tail rotor (that helps keep it easily stabilized due to the horizontal rotor) is secured with a screw. That's the weak point apparently because it cracked the plastic at the screw. Fixable with superglue, but certainly not what I expected looking at the metal construction of the chopper itself. Not a bad flying heli just cheap plastic at weak points.

Not that durable
Gave the toys as a present to my 11 year old on Christmas day, was ordering parts for it on the day after. The counter weight and top rotors broke after about 15 mins of flying time (indoors), most of the time was simply trying to hover to get the trim set. Had 2 soft crashes, no problems getting the unit back into the air. On the 3rd crash (running it into the couch) the counter weights came dislodged from the top rotor. After that, the unit will crash within 3-4 seconds when the counter weight and top rotor hit each other. I have another one in the box for my daughter (10 yrs old) but may send that one back and just buy something else for her birthday. I like the idea of using the Ipod Touch, controls seem to be responsive but sometimes the unit would not stop turning unless the off button was hit. Giving the toy a 2 star because of the durability issues with the rotors and counter weight. Parts were not that expensive (~$5) but in the long term I may be buying a lot of parts to keep this flying. Not sure how it will do outdoor, too cold right not to try.
