Worked great for my firehose.
It screwed in perfectly to standard pipe. The NH threads excepted the fire hose perfectly.

Npt fire hose thread
I never knew fire house fittings have a different thread. I have 200 feet of old fire hose that I use with an old 5hp Craftsman water pump to pump down my pond for maintenance. Works well.
