Powers & Charges Canon EOS R8 and Much More
My review is a tad specific, but I suspect others might be wondering the same. So here it is. The Canon EOS R8 is a professional grade mirrorless camera with some intentional feature gaps to keep the price reasonable enough for a hobbyist to jump into professional-grade mirrorless photography, w/out breaking the bank (and also to keep the camera delightfully light and easy to carry.) One painful "feature gap" for the EOS R8, was the choice to require the small & light low-capacity Canon LP-E17 lithium-ion battery, which can quickly drain out under heavy shooting or video. Most R8 owners will opt for a 2nd (or 3rd) battery, which I did, but I wanted a solution that would allow me to setup 12 hour time-lapse video captures, or film extra long videos where stopping to change the battery is just not possible. Enter the Anker PowerCore+ 26800mAh. Once charged it can be connected to the Canon EOS R8 (on Firmware 1.4.0) via USB-C AS LONG AS the camera is loaded with A GENUINE CANON LP-E17 Lithium-Ion Battery pack. In this configuration, if the camera is powered OFF the Anker PowerCore+ will CHARGE the LP-E17 in the camera body. (So YEA!, I now have a way to charge my camera batteries in the field away from a power outlet!) But even better, if you turn the camera ON the battery meter in the viewfinder will turn grey and the camera will draw exclusively from the externally connected Anker PowerCore+. In this configuration you can shoot hours or days long time-lapse videos or shoot extended video; your only limit being space on the SD card, or the camera's operating temperature. But there is more: The Anker PowerCore+ 26800mAh came WITH a USB-C 60w switching AC adapter to charge the PowerCore, which takes about 2-3 hours to fully charge. (Personally, I use a lower wattage AC adapter, to gently slow-charge it. AND I ever charge above 80% or allow it to drain below 20% to preserve the PowerCore's design capacity. Read online regarding the proper care of all Lithium batteries if you want to learn more.) Once charged, I was able to fully recharge my 13" laptop and still had enough left over to charge my smartphone. PLEASE NOTE, neither my laptop or smartphone had particularly large capacity batteries, so your mileage may vary. But I still found this impressive. Lastly, I discovered I was ALSO able to connect the included Anker 60w USB-C switching AC adapter, directly to my Canon EOS R8 (on fw 1.4.0), and as long as a genuine battery was loaded, I could either charge the camera battery on the OFF position, run the camera straight from the 60w switching adapter plugged into an electrical outlet INDEFINITELY when the camera was powered ON. CAUTION/PRUDENCE But please to all the Canon Camera owners out there. Even though the online Canon Answer 1043209 (Document PI624) indicates that "Operation of the following products has been verified." (Anker PowerCore+ 26800 PD 45W*1,2) --- To be on the safe side, it is NOT my intent to use it regularly as a primary power solution. I'm sticking with a couple Canon LP-E17 batteries charged via the Canon wall-charger. But when need demands, the PowerCore+ is going to offer options I would have not had otherwise. Charging and operating the Anker PowerCore is pretty simple, and the included AC charger and USB-C cable shows that Anker wanted to provide a powerbank that would be useful straight out of the box. The meshed carrying bag was a nice touch; it hangs perfectly from my tripod hook. I am very pleased. So that's my review. Great product. It solved a power problem for me, and I suspect it will will be very helpful for other on-the-go device charging scenario's. If you are on the fence, I encourage you roll the dice on this. I suspect it won' disappoint. (An while I have your attention) GENERAL LITHIUM BATTERY CARE TIPS: This is a great powerbank. But it was an investment, and its requires special CARE, which very few folks think about when it comes to Lithium rechargeable battery packs. This goes for cellphones, laptops, and even Electric Vehicles: When it comes to this battery pack, I recommend you store it half-drained when its not being used regularly, and to be careful to USE it while ONLY if its charged between 25% and 95% charge. Though although its not THAT big of a deal to occasionally charge it fully to 95-100%, "deep draining" this battery pack below 20% even once WILL cause the physical structure of the internal lithium cells to change: the lithium cells will begin to re-organize into crystals that grow into sharp crystal dendrites that puncture the walls of the cells. Once this happens, some of the internal cells short-circuits causing PERMANENT loss of some of its design capacity. 26800mAh may fall to 25300. The next time it may fall to 22900. And over time deep draining will make it impossible for the bank to store a meaningful amount of power, even at full charge. Remember, PREVENT lithium rechargeables from "deep draining" below 20%, and they will likely preform like brand-new for numerous charge cycles for many years.

A bit heavy but definitely worth it for long trips and flights, great support
I was comfortably able to keep my Switch charged up and play through most of my 15-hour flight and a layover using this battery pack. I've also been able to charge my spouse's work MacBook with it. It is slightly bulky, but if you need a reliable power source for your long-haul journeys or out on the trail for multi-day camping trips, this is a worthy investment both weight and money wise. Anker quality is pretty unbeatable in this segment, especially considering their warranty and support. I experienced a mechanical stability issue with the USB PD port after using it for a few months, which prevented reliable charging without keeping the charging cable at a certain angle. The issue arose because I had the charging cable plugged into the USB PD port while tightening the drawstring on the mesh cloth pouch, which caused stress on the port. I was able to get a replacement RMA'd to me within 7-10 business days, and had constant contact with support to keep them updated on how the new unit was working. The experience increased my confidence that Anker would resolve any subsequent issues for me. In summary, the long battery life and quality support make this battery pack totally worth it!

Fast charging on capable devices, lots of battery storage.
This is two products, the Anker PowerCore+ 26800 PD 45W, a charger with 26800 mAh storage capacity, and a 60W PD Charger that is plugged into an electrical outlet. PD stands for Power Delivery, referencing the USB Power Delivery Standard. The 60W PD Charger is simple and effective. It uses a USB-C cable to provide up to 60 Watts of power to a device. Using this brick, the PowerCore+ 26800 can be charged in about three and a half hours. The Anker PowerCore+ 26800 is a great device. The USB-C PD port is used both for charging the battery (when plugged into a power source like the included 60W PD Charger), and for charging devices at up to 45 Watts. In testing, using the USB-C PD port to charge my 12.9 iPad Pro, the table was charged from 0 - 85% in 90 minutes. With the stock charger from Apple, this took 150 minutes. The 15 Watt USB-A ports essentially match the performance of standard Apple chargers when charging my iPhone 7 and my Apple Watch. The capacity of the battery will give me two full charges for my iPad Pro 12.9, probably seven or more charges for my iPhone 7, and a lot of charges for my Apple Watch. This is great capacity for traveling. Note that the PowerCore+ will not charge devices attached to the USB-A ports while the USB-C port is charging the battery. Also, the USB-A ports have an odd characteristic. If the battery is not connected to the USB-C charger (so the battery is ready to charge devices), simply plugging my iPhone 7 into one of the USB-A ports does not start the charging cycle. Instead, I have to press the button on the battery to start charging. The same is true for connecting my Apple Watch. However, if I simply plug my iPad Pro 12.9 into the USB-C port, charging starts automatically. This "feature" takes some getting used to.

I am a Photographer and DP and I am always on the road in need of reliable power supplies. In the last year and a half, I have purchased three of this specific Anker model. Compared to other battery pack models I have had in the past and still have to this day. This one is definitely the most solid when it comes to physical build. The outer shell is made of metal and feels like a tank. It charges really fast, always around two hours. I mainly bought this model to supply my Still/Cinema camera, which is a canon R5C, and this battery last me a whole day of video shooting. This is something that I would only be able to achieve if I had at least eight individual Cannon LP-E6NH batteries. The 45W 60W power delivery gives me about one full charge on my 15 inch MacBook Pro and enough charges to last a couple days if you're only charging your phone. The only thing about this model that I find slightly inconvenient is its weight and size. This being said, I think it's what anybody would expect from a battery pack this powerful made of metal. At least if I drop this one, I'm not worried the plastic will crack. Definitely a great buy!

As someone who works in video production and media I'm not sure how I lived without this before! Purchased on Black Friday for $109 which is a steal of a deal, I almost wish I would have bought two. That being said my expectations were slightly too high when I received it. You may think, "27000 mah, that could charge my 9000 mah Macbook Pro three times!" Well, no not really. This is only worth about 40-50% of a charge on a Macbook Pro 16" i9. I'm not sure the science behind it but it would make sense that the Apple battery is higher quality and works more efficiently with the Macbook which is why you get much better life verses the Anker. That being said I'm still very happy with it. The PowerCore+ can keep up to my Macbook Pro i9 even while audio editing or video editing, extending my editing session by a third without needing to plug into an outlet. This is just super convenient to have in my back pocket so I'm ready for any situation! Now that I have it I use it all the time for everything. My Macbook Pro, my Samsung tablet and Pixel 3 (it charges everything 'rapidly'). Even if I'm around the house or office I use it to charge my devices wherever I'm at instead of looking for an outlet all the time, then at the end of the day I plug in the PowerCore+ into the wall and it's ready to go for me the next day. Everything in the package feels high quality, including the charger. The 60W charger is so nice, I often use it to charge my MacBook Pro directly instead of the 100W Apple charger. I enjoy the Anker charger because it's smaller which makes it more convenient to use, but if I really need the power I still keep the 100W Apple charger on hand just in case.

I have used this with: one plus 6T, nintendo switch, and oculus quest. It works well for all the above devices, and has a high enough capacity I can charge all those devices and still have plenty of battery capacity left for round 2. You can expect this battery to take a 'few hours' to charge, but given the capacity I'm reasonably impressed it's only a 'few hours' with the included PD wall charger. One device I have tried to charge doesn't register to charge (my anker wireless headphones, slightly ironic) but I am happy with this battery pack. I had an issue with my first battery, but read my story below as to why I still feel confident leaving 5 stars for this product. Anker is an excellent seller I would recommend all else being equal. I had a manufacturing defect in my battery pack which resulted in it not being able to be charged anymore. I emailed Anker on a Sunday, and had my warranty replacement battery pack delivered to my address by Thursday. This was the best customer support experience of my life, I can't recommend this company enough for this. I had no friction or issue dealing with their support team.

I purchased this product last month. It came in packaging that looked like it had been opened, which was quite unimpressive. Due to my need to use it in a short period of time, I decided to overlook this, and tested the product. It charged small devices reasonably, but when it came to the larger laptops, at 100% charge it was not able to charge my laptop (only got to 50%) before it died. Extremely disappointing. EDIT Anker customer service was good. However the second item is also poor - it doesn't charge Macs well.

Great charger for when you need power on the go. The size and weight of the charger were surprising. It is massive, and weighs even more than you'd expect. But its also 26800mAh and charges fast so I cannot complain, I wanted a large charger with USBC. What I really love is that you can plug in the USB and plug into the phone and it starts charging right away, you dont have to touch anything. The wall charger included is very good too and I actually use it more than the battery pack! Price was a little high, but for what you get I think it was a good purchase.
