I've been a fan of solar ever since I was a kid and it's great to finally see very practical uses of solar showing up for the homeowner. Bought two of these to light up the pitch black areas in the yard off of the sun room. WOW! Are they bright! Excellent coverage too. Installing and mounting the lights wasn't too much of a chore except for the mounting bracket - but maybe I just have two left thumbs and did it wrong. Heads up, if you are mounting the bracket for the light under the eaves of the house, be sure and leave plenty of room upwards to allow for the unit itself. The length of the wire from the solar panel to the unit itself appears quite adequate although I didn't measure the wire. Guessing 6 feet? The instructions say mount the photovoltaic panel facing north if you are in the northern hemisphere. That didn't make sense to me so I mounted the panels on top of the sun room facing west where I know they will get drenched with sun the latter part of the day in our hot Oklahoma days here. After mounting I was slightly worried that both units were defective. When I tried to do the initial setup after they'd been soaking up the sun for a few hours? Nothing doing. No lights or indication that were working. Uh-oh. I decided to let them sit for another day since we had slightly overcast skies. That evening I stepped off the sun room and....? (insert angels singing from heaven sound here...) I got blasted with light! When I went to the check the other unit? No such result. The problem? There is a big power button rather awkwardly placed at the back of the unit sort of behind one of the brackets. Push it. You'll have to find the "clickety" part of the button to engage it. Assuming the light if fully charged? You'll know it when you do. Be sure and NOT be facing the bulb! (Unless you have a welder's mask on!) So now that you know the unit is powered on you can begin fiddling with the duration and lux settings. For duration? You can have the light stay on anywhere from 3 seconds to a full 10 minutes with 8 time intervals in between. The lux setting determines how dark it has to be before the light will activate. Four different settings choices there. Adjusting each of these two options is a straight forward two button dance. Very nice. Green light indicates you are setting duration, red for lux. One complaint. These indicator lights are rather weak so you have to get just at the right angle to see what's what. On the other hand, the red LED number setting light is bright and easy to see. The units adjust right to left, up and down and appear to have a decent range of motion. I needed to adjust mine a bit downwards to better catch the motion sensor as I plunge into the darkness. Works pretty good. Unless the neighbors cat happens to be underfoot. I didn't mess with the left-right adjustment since when I mounted each unit that direction was already cool. I'm so impressed with these units I'm seriously thinking about buying two more to light up the yard in front of the sun room. A third would be great to light up the driveway....wait.... maybe a fourth to light up the front porch? Another for a midnight run to the mailbox? Heck...I'll take half a dozen! These units probably don't have the old "Made in America / Back in the 70s" quality (except for cars) that I'd like and enjoyed as a kid? But first impressions is that they are a fairly well engineered unit. It will be interesting to see what happens when we get our inevitable Oklahoma winter blast here and see if they hold up.

I bought 3 of these lights to illuminate an unlit walkway. They are well constructed and work as well as hard wired security lights in as far as the detection aspect and have a very bright white light. The detection range is not adjustable and, as with all infrared motion sensor lights, varies according to temperature, humidity and whether you are walking toward the sensor or across it. The light is adjustable for the length of time it stays on after triggering and what level of darkness is reached before it can be activated. After some experimentation, I mounted them about 20 feet high (for a maximum well lit area of roughly 20' x 20') under a soffit/eve and decided on setting 2 for Length of Time (45-60 seconds) and an LUX setting of 4. After I decided what angle I wanted them at, I applied a thread locking compound to the swivel points to insure they would keep that angle. I thought that the enclosed mounting screws were too small so I bought a package of #8 round head screws & anchors. Before I mounted them I sealed them in all appropriate areas with an exterior silicone sealant. I also sealed the bases of the lights and solar panel mounts where they come into contact with the house. These are great lights for a dark walkway, stairs, driveway, etc. where light is needed for a short period of time for safe passage and I would purchase them again.

The light was shipped very quickly through Amazon prime and it was professionally packaged. This was purchased to place at the top of my garage which is approximately twelve feet from the ground to the peek of the gable. Everything was wrapped in bubble wrap and well protected the glass over the LEDs as well as the sensor and solar panel.Included in the package:1 - 80 LED light with bracket and motion sensor already attached1 - Solar panel with wire attached1 - Mounting bracket for the solar panel1 - Bah of various screws and plastic wall anchors1 - Instruction ManualThe light installed quickly in approximately an hour and I was taking my time consider placement options etc. **Installation tip** There are three screws on the face of the bracket for the light. I removed all three screws which releases the mounting bracket from the light. I then predrilled my holes and then re-attached the bracket to the light. Next I screwed the screws through the bracket into the wall of my garage, ran my wire and mounted the solar panel. There are instructions on the best position and angle to place your solar panel for the best results. I used an app downloaded on my phone (construction level app) which allowed me to determine the correct angle to set my solar panel. The angle is determined by your location and you can find your exact coordinates by simply using Google.I adjusted the light and sensor in the direction that I assumed would be close to what I was looking for and I let it full charge for more than three days because we had snow one day and cloud conditions the next. I pushed the power button on the light and immediately the light turned on and I have it set to stay on for five minutes each time it's triggered. I waited and the light turned off after that period of time and I walked approximately fifteen feet in front of my garage and the light turned on again and worked perfectly.If the light continues to work the way it does now, I will definitely be purchasing more to use around my property and I wouldn't hesitate at all. The light was plenty bright for my needs and for others who complained that it doesn't shine far, my does great for it's intended purpose. This is made to "flood the area with light" not like a spot light where light is directed in a single pattern. This is used to cover a wider area and I'm so pleased with this purchase, I can't say enough. I will update my comment if conditions change but WOW what a great price, great quality, fast shipping and wonderful experience. 5 STARS ALL THE WAY!
