Great Mix
I have made Gulasch for years before I found this mix. It adds a nice flavor to the meat and onions. Makes a good tasting gravy. If it tastes to bland because I added to much water I just add another 1/2 packet. Yes, it is a bit pricey but what isn't these days and I don't fix Gulasch that often. The secret to the sauce is brown the meat first, remove from pot then add lots, of chopped onion and stir until caramelized then add meat, liquid and mix. ( As far as translation, add enough water to cover meat.)

Delish on a cold winter night!!!
Easy to use. I substituted 1/2 cup of red wine and beef bone broth instead of water. Added an additional 1 tsp of smoked paprika and 1/8 tsp of cayenne pepper, 3 tbsp of balsamic vinegar and 3 tbsp of tomato paste for more layers of flavor. Cooked on stove top at a LOW simmer (barely bubbling) for 3 hours (you can speed this up by cooking in a pressure cooker). Absolutely scrumptious! My husband was born in Germany said it was just as good as his " muti's " and liked the addition of the tomato paste in the sauce. Served on buttered egg noodles w/parsley flakes) second time with mashed potatoes. Both ways are great. Top with a tsp of sour cream.
