Maclean MCTV-884 Digital Satellite Finder with 25cm F-connection Cable LCD Display Easy to Read, Sound Output Adjustment of Satellite Antennas

I put my own dish up several years ago, and have spent a lot of time up and down ladders over the years trying to get the best quality and strength out of the signal from the dish. Bought this satellite finder. Twenty minutes later I now have 100% quality signal and 97% strength. Has made a marked improvement on picture quality and sound quality. Well worth the very little money spent, considering how much some companies will charge you for doing it for you. Worth investing in one of these babies.

This satellite detector did the job after I realised that I shouldn't position my body between the dish and the satellite and I needed to turn the adjustment down to get it to show the results. I had used an iPhone app to point the dish at the satellite then the detector to 'fine-tune' it. Small changes horizontally were detected but vertical adjustments or adjusting the LNB between the 1 to 5 settings didn't appear to make any difference. The signal strength displayed on my TV screen is still showing poor. I would have welcomed more idiot-proof instructions. The actual TV display is fine though, so I am leaving it like that.

Upon unboxing I found that the supplied cable was broken. No damage to the box, just appears to be poorly manufactured. The only option I had from Amazon was to return for refund, which I didn't want to do as this would require a wait to return and get a replacement. Fortunately, I had some spare connectors and a short length of satellite cable, so I made up my own lead. Took less than 5 minutes to work out how to use the meter and successfully re aligned my dish after the recent storm moved it out of alignment. It's now in my toolbox in case I ever need it again. Good product for the price, just a shame about the poorly manufactured lead.

Couldn't find out how this satellite finder works and so it is not helpful for me. No detailed manual...

Simple to use. Adjusted / realigned my satalite dish really quickly.
