Red Truck (Red Truck and Friends)

This is the best purchase I've made in board books for my son - and I buy a lot of books for him. It's by and large the family favorite. The simple yet lively text draws in the readers and the sound effects like ZOOOOM and SPLOOOSH and VROOOOM have my toddler giggling every time. The storyline is great and the illustrations are just perfect! He loves pointing our every truck and bus in the book! And to be honest, I LOVE reading the book. It's just plain fun - and I don't find many, if any, books too be this fun to read. I can't wait until the next books come out. The board book is a good size and is very sturdy. Perfect for my little toddler to flip through the pages on his own.

The cutest board book! I bought it for two reasons: first,to go next to my vintage looking little red truck that I have. It looks so adorable next to it! Secondly,to read to our 7mos old grandchild. It has colorful pages & cute illustrations. Just a few words/sentences on each page which is perfect to read to a baby or toddler. The story is very cute too. It’s a hard board book,which is great for a baby/toddler too. Most of the time,it will be standing up next to my little red truck though. Highly recommend this book!

This is one of my sons favorite books, we have so much fun reading it. We are always so excited when red truck saves the day! I have a group of friends who all had sons within 3 months of each other (3 of the boys where born only hours apart) buying that many gifts at a time can be hard on the check book, so we picked our favorite book and sent out 4. All of the moms gave this book a thumbs way up! One mom told me she read it 4 times after it had been delivered, another told me it was her sons new favorite book and that she was reading it morning, noon, and night. One of the boys had taken to sticking it in the back of his pants and taking it everywhere he went. This book is definitely a winner, even my daughter loves it and enjoys joining in for the sound effects "Zoooooooom!".

This is the cutest book! My husband owns a towing agency and I give these to all the new babies in our family and to our friends. This way they will always know where the book came from.

I bought RED TRUCK because my 2 year old son is going through that truck-train-digger-wheel phase so common among boys. He instantly loved this book. It's a short, fun book about a red truck that rescues a school bus on a cold, rainy day. It's rhythmical and full of great sound effects - SPLOOSH! & ZOOOOM! - that make me smile, even after reading it for the 10th time that night. The illustrations are simple, bright, and cheerful, and really engage him. Yes, the sentences are choppy, but they are perfect for a two year old; my son quickly memorized the book and finishes the sentences. A fabulous book for little boys who love things with wheels.

We love this book! It is a good length for littles - not too short but also not too long (for both child and parent). The rhyme and cadence is great for keeping attention and help little brains learn. It's also an interesting story, and not annoying to read.

Sometimes you're revved up ready to read something nice and long to your child at storytime, sometime you want to wrap it up a little more quickly to deal with dishes, toy pickup, your other child, etc. In the book's defense, the art is playfully done and colorful, the text has a nice rhyming scheme. It just never caught my 2 year old's attention like the other books, and never got into his top ten. But every child will be different, so your child may cotton to this one a little more, especially if you happen to have a red pickup truck somewhere in your life!

My son, who is about to turn 2, does not like books. He gets easily bored and doesn't like to sit still for more than 3 seconds. However, he loves this book, and will sit all the way through it! If you have a reluctant reader who loves vehicles, it's worth a shot. The red truck rescues a bus, which is perfect my bus-obsessed son. Really cute and easy to understand for the littles.
