Vtech Toot-Toot Drivers Train Set

Train was faulty and did not propel along track. Very disappointing as given as a gift and had previously checked the lights and sounds (asuch as able whilst in packaging).Amazon customer service was dreadful as always, no concept that this item had been gifted and opened so could not be returned for a refund as was no longer in my possession. No understanding or apology for the inconvenience and disappointment caused. Amazon did not want to replace as had gone up in price by less than a pound! Replacement wouldn't be sent until receipt of returned set, at my cost.Ended up keeping a broken train for my nephew to push along a track. But it's ok, because I got a tenner back?! Ridiculous.

It’s a good toy. I’ve given it five stars because I can see the enjoyment my son gets out of it. He’s 11 months and loves watching it and making the barrels drop into the trailer. There’s a couple of things I’m not too pleased about, it doesn’t really meet that well at the top of the ramp to the station and needs a bit of help 50% of the time. But all in all. It’s a good toy. It doesn’t stay together that well and it can be a bit of a nightmare to put back together. But, I didn’t buy it for me. I bought it for my son, and he seems to like it a lot.

The price doesn't look bad at first, and the set looks good when assembled. However, this is is almost unplayable, as it:1. Takes long to assemble using instructions and after all the rails are not properly aligned, the train constantly struggles to go, constantly getting stuck, no matter how even the floor is. The design is so poor.2. The train songs and sounds made by that voice are, excuse me, just silly. If it could switch to ONLY the train sounds, that would be perfect. But that voice... Even my little kid asks me to switch it off after it goes 1-2 circles. My kid prefers to play with the train switched off, moving it by hands, which ruins the whole point of this train set. I appreciate that the other kids may like it and can find it really funny, but, in my opinion, that is not really enjoyable.

This isn’t the sort of set you can set up and leave to run on it’s own - the train isn’t powerful enough to complete the circuit by itself and needs a bit of help. I’m not sure if this is a design flaw or intentional. Either way, little one has spent a lot of time playing with it and it doesn’t affect her enjoyment. Some of the track, however, is so narrow that the train can’t get through!

This is a mostly excellent product for toddlers. The pieces are pretty indestructible but after nine months the switch on the motorised-train packed-in, thankfully Amazon sent out a replacement with no fuss. This set also has one design flaw, where the moving bridge meets the platform it is hard to keep level with the platform. This can result in the train getting stuck at the top of the bridge. I’d recommend getting a non-motorised train to go with this as those are bomb proof. Overall though a really durable and well designed product.
