A Prize Winner and a New Classic
Women, Writing, and Soul-Making is glorious book -- no wonder it just took the 2010 Indie Book Award in Spirituality. I turn to it for guidance when I am happy with my writing, and it is like a understanding friend when writing is difficult. Often, I turn to it for guidance with just living -- there is so much solid, deep, and grounded wisdom throughout its pages. Like Millin, I, too, have lead many writing groups and workshops, and I have always wanted a book like this to recommend to my students. Finally, it's here.

It moved me
I found Peggy's book moving and generative of deep thought and writing. It's not that new thoughts were shared, but the way she wrote about them was a stand-out for me compared to other writing books. I took it slow and easy so that I got everything I could from it and so I could enjoy the conversation she provided. Highly recommend it if you want to write any kind of book, alone or in a group, although she speaks to writing memoir in a group, or circle as she calls it.

Not worth it
I thought I'dfind inspiration in these pages but instead found a "memoir" of sorts. I was not impressed, much less inspired...what a waste of $$.

not another "how to"
This book is not another "how to" - it is a "how we must", if we feel that inner voice speaking to us, put our pen to paper and just write. At first I thought the book might be, because of the title, a little too "new age" but Peggy speaks to every woman from every walk of life who wants to put her voice to paper. By honestly telling her own journey I felt I could relate to the struggles she encountered and overcame. I have now begun my own journey. Thanks Peggy for being so fearless!!

So you don't think you need another book about writing
I'd gotten the notices but put off buying this book. I had all the goodies, and some that weren't so good, and I thought rather than read another 'how to' book, I should devote the time to writing. But something kept nudging me, and I can't say how glad I am. Peggy Millin's" Women, Writing, and SoulMaking" is unlike any other book out there for women who write, especially women who may think it's too late to explore their creative side. With this book Millin affirms, encourages, and nurtures in ways simple and profound. With uncanny precision, she brings her skill, experience, insight and compassion to the very place where aspiring women writers find themselves today and assures them that they are indeed awakening to one of history's most momentous eras--the one in which half of the human race awakens to its potential, stretches, and affects the universe! Thank you Peggy Tabor Millin!

Been waiting for this book
Finally, a book that gets to the spiritual side of writing with a feminine perspective. Her exercises are sound ways to enhance your writing practices and her prose is beautiful. What a wonderful and long needed book!

Wonderful!
Tabor-Millin is a gifted motivator. She brings out that creativity that we all have but that many of us stifle for one reason or another. Great book.

For women who enjoy writing of any kind
I enjoy reading books about writing, how to books, self-help books, and inspirational books. This book worked for me on all levels.I'd recommend if for women who enjoy writing - any kind of writing. Millin identifies a key difference, for me, between how women and men write. As she explains, "The feminine writes in circles, makes leaps, tells the truth with dream, imagery, and metaphor, and relies on inner knowing. The masculine approach makes outlines, develops linearly from premise to conclusion, and relies on outside authority."A-ha!
