125lb Female MMA Fighter
This mouth guard is AWESOME! I am a 125lb Female MMA Fighter that has always used the classic single style mouth guard (which I never had any problems with.) My MMA coach told me about the brain pad and highly recommended me to get one. I was not sure about buying one at first because of how big they seem to be, the price and not knowing how or if it would affect my breathing. I have had this mouth guard for about 60 days now and I will never buy another single style mouth guard again! It has taken me a little while to get used to the fit, my jaws were sore for the first week or two and I do seem to produce a lot more saliva with this mouth guard. However those are the only "bad" things I can think to say about this mouth guard. All in all this is by far the best mouth guard I have ever owned. I am very impressed with how much this mouth guard absorbs the shock of being hit in the head! I took a (unintentional) knee to the face by a 170lb male while sparring with this mouth guard in and it absorbed almost all of the shock. I am confident that if I would of taken the same blow with a classic single style mouth guard I would have been dropped instantly. This mouth guard has not affected my breathing in any way, if anything it has helped. One last thing in case anyone reading this still has their wisdom teeth, I have all four of my wisdom teeth and this mouth guard covered all of them. I did cut a little off the ends because I did not like how far back it sat in mouth.

Excellent mouthguard for martial arts
This has saved my teeth dozens of times. Also, the breathing holes are excellent.

Hot!
I purchased this mouthguard recently only had one fight with it. What I like: - Great especially during heavy impact - Easy to breath - Overall construction, it seems very resistant I also purchased the same for my girlfriend which has a tiny jaw. She had no problem to obtain a good fit from this mouthguard without having to cut anything on it. What could be improved: - Like most Brainpad product, the temperature to obtain a good fitting is almost too high. It's difficult to not burn yourself when doing it.

Poor Design. Molding Catastrophe!
First off, I have plenty of experience in the area of mouthpieces; i've been wearing mouthpieces for contact sports for about 25 years. This mouthpiece felt awkward in my mouth before I even molded it, so I had my doubts. The molding process for the Brain-Pad is a bit more complicated than any other mouthpiece I've ever molded. And after meticulously following the instructions, the first attempt to mold this Brain-Pad never even made it into my mouth before my fingers curled the gum guards. On the third attempt, I got it in my mouth and bit down... After pulling it out and examining it, one of the gel pads had shifted, it was only halfway between my teeth and both outer edges were too far away from my molars. Think of it as the difference between a "U" shape and a "V" shape. So on the fourth attempt I get it mostly right. (Though I never got that gel pad to recenter) Except that upon closer inspection, I bit through the front of the mouthpiece, top and bottom, and that off center gel pad, had a pocket inside the mouthpiece. A pocket filled with water or saliva that when the mouthpiece was squeezed or manipulated it would ooze out. I thought to myself, "now that isn't very hygienic." I'll be attempting to return it... we'll see what happens.

Best mouth guard ever!
This is the ONLY mouth guard that I will buy for my son. He's got asthma and allergies, so he has breathing issues at times. In the middle of summer in Texas, where the heat index can be well over 105° F, it's easy for kids to get out of breath. The open space in the front of the mouth piece really allows for my son to be able to breathe while it's in his mouth. He doesn't have to try to take it out or stretch his mouth to breathe. I also like the dental guarantee offered. It's another perk with this brand. The actual piece itself is very sturdy and looks like it can absorb the shock of the hits he takes in football. It's durable and I trust it a lot more than I would the cheap flimsy brands out there. Since it is my child using it, I want the very best to keep him safe and with this mouth guard, I feel it is. My only suggestion would be for a pink version of the regular adult mouth guard be released. They currently have one for women, however during the month of October, my son's team wears pink for Breast Cancer Awareness month and since I don't allow him to wear the ones that are given out, he's the only one without a pink mouth guard. We bought the women's, just to try, but it was too small. It's just a thought though. :)

Strap tears through protector attachment hole
It does a fabulous job protecting my son's teeth (he already has five broken, and getting them fixed every football season is getting expensive), but the "protector attachment hole" on our second Brain-Pad 3XS THIS FOOTBALL SEASON (started August 5th, it is now September 11) has torn again. The "quick-release strap" works every time, so it is attached to his helmet properly. Anyone who plays high school football knows the strap must be attached to the mouthpiece or you cannot play.

Protective and easy to breathe
Formed nicely as per instructions but I had to use the fork to hold the string as steam was too hot. Instructions were blurry but I downloaded them from Amazon. I had to cut the end of the mouth guard to the line as it was causing a gag reflex and now it feels good. I am able to breathe better than with regular mouth guard, no issues with more saliva. I got hit hard with a knee while rolling on the first day while wearing this and I still have my teeth so it works as designed. I like that it protects both upper and lower teeth and would not even consider going back to standard mouthguard.

Brain pad mouthpiece
Great mouthpiece!

So big it makes you look like a simian. even cut off the ends - doesn't help.
