I have bought this item a few times the sound quality is very good

Very poor quality, kept cutting out as soon as I received it. No longer usable as the sound keeps cutting out. Have tried with different connectors and it works fine so I know it's not my phone or the headphones.

Fantastic for iPad 10 which has no headphone socket. Listen during night with one ear bud in, so Bluetooth headphones not suitable. Just got to ensure iPad is charged, as charger uses same socket. Maybe a twin adapter next time!

Does exactly what it supposed to do

This works - the sound is passed through - but the recording quality is extremely poor, compared to what the same microphone can produce using my lightning adapter. The bass is cut out, making it sound like a telephone call. Very disappointed.

If you're one of those people that wants to use a wired headset, this adapter converts your electric charging port to a wired headset Jack. There are many that do but most of them are mono not stereo. This one is the real deal and gives you the full sound. It's like night and day and the price well worth it.

Bought this as my new Samsung S21 doesn't come with the headphone socket, and this allows me to keep using my existing wired headset. Works just fine, plug in and no problem. Alternative is obviously to purchase Bluetooth wireless earbuds, but I am not ready for the hassle of keeping more devices charged.
