Earthquake Sound SWS-6, 5x 6.5-Inch Shallow Woofer System Subwoofers, 4-Ohm (Pair)

Replaced a pair of Jehnert speakers with these and must say they are much better for my taste in music. If you like low end bass then these are for you, this is exactly what the Jehnerts lacked for me. I drive these at full power from an external amp and they’re great, but make sure you have an amp powerful enough to do so otherwise they may not be as loud as you’d like. Quality is great, the adapter rings having a foam surface is a nice touch also and the speaker wire pass through terminals is really helpful.

Fitted subs in factory enclosures, powering with JL Jd400/4. Complete transformation of the cabin, when you pump up the volume with bass heavy tracks, you can feel the seats vibrate with Bass. If you dont want to lose boot space with an enclosure, this is the perfect compromise!

The subwoofer did not work out of the box

Interesting speaker. Looks good and follows similar lines as many other shallow mount speakers. I mounted mine in a 3L sealed enclosure which was made of 25mm MDF (birch was not needed for a box this small) and it was lined with two different types of material Foam behind the underside and poly-fill around the sides. Had two, they were wired in parallel (2ohms total) and fed from an amp putting out around 400wrms with the gains set at around 60%. High passed at 50Hz and low passed at 100Hz both on a -12dB slope and then the box was placed upside down on rubber door stops so as the bass plays down to the floor.. this hides any potential distortion and hides the localisation of the bass. RESULT: very good. does 100% of what I wanted and expected, a nice clean front bass sounds as the speakers are under the front seats. I am actually impressed, they are well made, look the part and for a 6.5in speaker do a good job.

Has been fitted to my pre-LCI E61 BMW after upgrading the subwoofer amplifier for about a year. Faultless and great sound quality, very responsive but not headache inducing. Perfect for in car audio, not for someone who wants everyone else outside to hear it.

I bought these to replace my blown CX5 speakers. They are not quiet a perfect fit but with some adjustments I made them fit. Amazing sound and so glad I could get them in a 2ohm variant. Great price considering the factory replacements were double the price for one. So happy with the purchase.

These subs are a significant upgrade to replace the mediocre factory woofers. They install easily and sound amazing. I have mine powered by a 5 channel amp driving 300watts rms to the two woofers. I couldn’t be happier. Do they hit deep like a 10 or a 12” sub in your trunk? No. But they round off the sound of your stereo and add a nice kick to your music that will leave you and others impressed. Word of caution, they do have quite the excursion when compared to the factory woofer, so you may have to leave off the speaker cover and trim some of your carpet as I did in my e90 335d. Do I recommend these? Would I do it again? In a heartbeat. Cheers.

Bought 2 pairs and each pair had one with a defective voice coil which rubbed internally creating an undesirable rattling sound. One of them even had a dent in the aluminium frame. On the upside, if you're lucky enough to get 2 good ones, they'll sound amazing!

Installed on BMW E90 base audio system, great bass, so happy!

I have a 2012 BMW E92 335i with the individual audio package. This upgrade is days better.
