Never Travel Without a Streetwise Map!
Streetwise maps are amazing. It's almost impossible to get lost in a city one has never been with these maps. This Munich map is no exception. I've yet to visit Munich but from my past travels using Streetwise maps in other cities, I always had my bearings in check. The thing that stands out about these maps are the dimensional landmark illustrations which helps tremendously because you know what to look for. I always knew where I was and what direction I had to go to get to where I wanted to get to.Thick, durable and compact - this map is made for travel. Well laid out is the Metro map as well the index to find specific places of interest. But mostly you can find most of the attractions on the map itself because everything is clearly labeled. When I travel to a city I don't know I will always have a Streetwise map (if available) and a DK Travel book for specific and in-depth information you couldn't possibly see on a map. Both essential travel items you wouldn't want to be without if you want to maximize the exploration and enjoyment of your chosen destination.

Never lose your way....
Best ever map for travelers....can't beat it for clarity and coverage of center city sights and streets. Laminated and pre-folded for durability and ease of access in day bags....don't leave home without one of these little maps to show you the way! Handy street and sight index makes locating points of interest easy. Easy to read as well.

Very useful map!
This map was ESSENTIAL to our trip to Munich. It was in our pocket the whole time and was exactly what we needed. It went as far to the edges as WE needed it to go, but I can easily see that it might not be enough for some people because it doesn't really cover all of the boundaries and outskirts of the city.We were in Munich for about five days, and there was some rain, and we heavily used this map.... but by the end of our Munich time, the edges laminating was coming apart. So this map isn't going to look brand new once you've finished with it, hence 4 starts and not 5.Also, we especially appreciated the S-bahn map as that was crucial for our trip!

Great for visiting Munich
Very helpful and compact map! It includes a metro map, but we also found that printing out a light-rail map was helpful. We had absolutely no trouble navigating our way all around Munich with this and the light rail map together. It opens and folds very easily. It does have a tendency to pop open, so stick it in a guide book or pocket when you aren't using it and it is perfect.

Laminate is a good idea but not that practical with a map that would be folded and shoved in a pocket with the specific area up on top. Did not use.

Love the Streetwise maps!
I bought 1 map for each of the 3 cities we were visiting on our trip. The first city, Prague, had a good metro map of their own and I only used the Streetwise map for clarification. When we went to Munich, it was pretty much the same thing. However, when we arrived in Vienna, we found their metro map very confusing and ended up using our Streetwise version almost exclusively. If you are going to be using local transportation and going to multiple cities, having a consistent map (with landmarks and hotels mapped out, by the way - very helpful) is incredibly helpful. :)

As great as our other Streetwise maps
I own half a dozen Streetwise maps, and have always found them to be useful. We use our NYC one regularly, and then buy others as we take trips to different cities. This Munich map was used on a recent trip to Germany. The other cities we visited didn't have Streetwise maps available, so we made do with regular paper maps. But I prefer the Streetwise maps because they are laminated and fold up easy. It was rainy one day in Munich, and I didn't have to worry about ruining the map.We used the u-bahn and s-bahn to get around, but did a lot of walking. Our hotel was near the Bahnhof, but we spent days near the Marienplatz and the Olympic park. The Olympic park is on the reverse side of the map, but that wasn't a big deal.I was glad we bought the map for our visit this time. I had been in Munich about 5 years ago, with a different map, and this one was better.Recommended.

Handy to have.
Very helpful when combined with Google maps. I really liked having a diagram of the major public transportation routes. It was convenient and easy to carry around. The street listings with coordinates is also helpful, as was the location of major attractions.

Great for central Munich and S Bahn - but quite limited
What I liked about this map- it's laminated and hard-wearing. After a week's use there were no signs of wear and tear- it's easy to read and quite detailed for central Munich- the S-Bahn map is very clear - and it's good to be able to plan an S-Bahn route from the airport before arrival in Munich rather than doing it bleary-eyed lugging suitcases at the airport itself. What I didn't like so much- it covers central Munich only - A lot of my business meetings were in the suburbs (like Unterfoehring and Ismaning) which aren't covered on this map so I needed to look on google earth for those. - it isn't a map book just a fold-out single sheet - somehow I thought I was buying something more like an A-Z or Refidex.- I could have picked up a map covering the same area in the Reception of my hotel (but it wouldn't have been so hard-wearing and I wouldn't have been able to refer to it ahead of my trip to plan my route)I'll use it again on my next trip to Munich but it wasn't as good as I'd hoped.
