Humor: Stories from the Collection More News from Lake Wobegon Audio CD – CD, January 6, 2003

It's a wonderful thing when someone can transport you back in time, to a place where life was more simple. Garrison Keillor has the ability to verbally paint a picture that everyone can connect with and is surely an American national treasure.To a person who grew up listening to serials on the radio in Australia as a child, this CD was an absolute time capsule, the gentle humour (and lets face, it everyone loved having stories told to them as a kid) made me laugh out loud and managed to make me forget about the current world we live in which is not so kind.This CD made me daydream and wish for a better and less complicated world and for a short period of time, took me there, tremendous stuff.

It was many years ago we discovered "More  Humor: Stories from the Collection More News from Lake Wobegon News From Lake Wobegon" on our radio on Saturday evening. It is fun to have some vignettes at hand any time any of us want to hear Garrison Keillor's particular brand of humor. The opening tract is a personal favorite. Very humorous. I was disappointed that there weren't more stories however. I have to admit I was surprised to find only 4 tracks on this CD. But there were funny, I must say.

I and my family thoroughly enjoy Garrison Keillor CD's. I have four of his CD's and plan to buy some more. Sometimes, as I listen to one of his CD's, I begin to feel that there actually is a Lake Wobegon and in my minds eye create an image for many of his characters, of which he of course, is the "main character." After all, "who needs respect if you can be in the entertainment business". > from Homecoming.

This is another fine CD by Garrison Keillor. I have all of his CD's and I really enjoy them. His stories are humorous and funny but are never offending. They are good, clean entertainment you can take with you anywhere.

My girlfriend and I listened to this years ago driving across county. Her husband has cancer and some not so good days, I asked her if he had heard the story of the old car turns septic tank and he had not. I ordered this and had it mailed to them. I am hopeful this gave him some smile hours. Jean

Need to chill out and see the world in a better light? TakeGarrison Kiellor on your next car commute. He is the only grace standing between me and the driver that made me miss the red light, or the "better than you" little yuppies that stop a mile-long waiting line, so they can cut in. Yes, Lake Wobegon is the answer. Take a trip!

Long distance driving in USA was always tedious having to retune the radio every 30 mins as FM stations were always very local but on Sundays these reports on the goings on in the fictious Lake Wobegone on NPR were a welcome relief. Sharp, beautifully crafted and very funny - I felt I knew the inhabitants almost too well!

Humourous man with tales and tributes of a place he knows and remembers well. Funny but American, not always what some want, Garrison keillor is a radio show host in USA, not sure where Im just aware of his stuff.

I'm a Garrison Keillor fan and really enjoy his understated, suttle humour. I'd recommend this to anyone who likes innocent, clean fun.
