Con- the model YRD256 isn’t app based. This won’t link up to the Yale app on your phone. It’s a $100 upgrade (AYR202-CBA-KIT), knowing this I would have just bought the Nest+Yale model. -Package didnt come with detailed install instructions, set up guide and key pad menu option. I had to figure it out and look online, to compete the install and the set up. It almost felt like a refurbished unit but everything looked new. -You can’t mix n match colors. My door came with bronze hardware on the outside and silver on the inside. I opted for silver based on the interior look. The outside doesn’t look that bad. -keypad light tends to turn off quickly but this is probably to preserve battery life. Pros: easy install onto my door. - the key pad is a perfect size for the front. - backlit key pad and the black screen is super sleek. - speaker quality is good. - good integration with SmartThings and Alexa app. - good response time when asking alexa to lock or unlock. -good response to asking alexa the status of the lock. -quiet -cool privacy feature, but you have to do this at the unit vs. being able to use the Yale app. - multiple users / access codes - you have options for indicator light, volume, and other settings, configured at the lock. I wonder how long the batteries will last 🤔

I got this lock because it syncs with my Ring Alarm system. so when i unlock the deadbolt, or someone i have come over enters their code, the deadbolt actually turns off the alarm system without them having to go to the keypad and enter the alarm code. technology is really coming along with locks like this. I can lock or unlock the lock from my Ring app, and get notifications when the door is unlocked. It has a cool feature, when you go to leave, you just put your palm up to the touch screen and the lock, locks the door without having to enter your code. very convenient. Plan to get another yale lock for my other door, might be the yale touchscreen door handle instead of deadbolt. Im very disappointed in the Professional installation that came with this. Never actually got it installed by a professional because the guy acted like he didnt know how to do it when he came. he was only at my house for 3 mins and wanted me to pay double for installation that was included with the lock purchase. wish i could review that service because i would not recommend it to anyone. amazon tried to make things better but then the installation was never rescheduled on their end and cancelled instead. so i installed the lock myself. i won't make the mistake of trying to use that service again.
