After reading this third volume, I can conclude that the Citrus manga series is episodic with each book release. In other words, you can expect to be introduced to new characters and new obstacles in this forbidden romance. Nonetheless, all of this serves to progress the entertaining love story between Yuzu and Mei. In this book, we get to meet Matsuri! Mischievous and the youngest of the cast, Matsuri is Yuzu's childhood friend. Knowing each other for so long, she was pretty much a little sister to Yuzu. Although at this present time of setting, closeness and attachment becomes something different for her. Learning of Yuzu's relationship between Mei, Matsuri becomes a rival who will do whatever it takes to beat Mei and take Yuzu for her own. After reading this book, I find Matsuri to be a very interesting character. She stands to be more of a problem between Yuzu and Mei than Himeko. It has to be the fact that Matsuri is aggressive and daring that she sticks out as a memorable character from the manga. With that being said, she plays a good antagonist in this volume of Citrus and Yuzu and Mei moves closer. I would also like to note that Mei finally gets to play a bit of hero in this story! I mean she's the coolest and calmest, so even a bit of action makes her shine. With past reviews on the last two books, I'm going to say again that this story gets hot and steamy. And I commend Saburouta for doing so well in keeping hot and vanilla so close. Finally, I hope everyone enjoys(ed) those colored pages because I have!
