I did not buy this scoop for ice cream. I bought it for filling cupcake and muffin tins with batter. It's the perfect size for that and like it very much. Previously, I had purchased a scoop from a different company that had the more traditional handle with a thumb lever. I could not use it at all; it was too large for me to reach the lever. I have MS and arthritis in my hands and my grip is not very strong. I definitely prefer this style of scoop with the squeeze handle, which is easy to operate with either hand. I have this same style scoop in two smaller sizes that I use for making cookies.

Handle is huge (Female) very hard to get a good grip while scooping ice cream..you better have big mitt's if you want to scoop ice cream with this.. I'm sure it's prob. very good for potatoes, apple sauce & vegies ect... Not ice cream friendly if you have small hands..very girthy..lol

I am left handed, and have had to struggle with right handed items like ice cream scoops all my life. If you are left handed and like ice cream, you need to get one of these. I have not tried it on mashed potatoes or cookie dough like they suggest; I can only assume it works equally well with those foods too.

This scoop is just right for serving my homemade ice cream. It is also great for making pancakes all the same size. Food grade stainless steel will last me a long time. Very happy with my new scoop.

Our Ice Cream Scoop came in the mail yesterday. I was impressed with the enticing packaging. I used it right away on our favorite coconut sherbet and it gave me a perfect size scoop. It felt good in my hand and I’m thinking of buying one for my mom.

The mechanism is not really strong enough for ice cream, but I bought it for cookie dough, meat balls, etc. and it works great for that.

I bought this to make amazing homemade meatballs. Love it.

This ice cream scoop works great! I eat ice cream more often than I like to admit and I've been in need of a new scoop for some time. The directions advise you to run the scoop under hot water in between scoops if necessary but I didn't find that I needed to. When you squeeze the handle the lever pops the ice cream right out in nice round scoops. It seems very durable and likely that will hold up over time. Plus you can't beat the price!
