We have a Lab and although she's at 50 pounds now, she will not push the gate or try to jump it. It keeps my dog from getting into the kitchen when he isn't supposed to. However the overall quality of the gate is kind of subpar. We had to sand parts of it down and remove lose pieces of wood to prevent our dog from possibly getting a splinter.
