I'm a newbie to triathlons so I don't have a lot to go off of, but I was pleasantly surprised when I got these in the mail. The medium fit perfectly for my 31" waist. They appear to be well made with a nice strip of non slip rubber around the bottom of each leg hole so they don't ride up on you. You don't notice or feel the rubber part on the bottom once you have them on. During my tri I didn't notice the shorts or have any issues at all. They dried up relatively quickly after the swim portion. The padding in the crotch is minimal so it's not annoying during the swim or run. The pad takes a while to drily out when you hang dry.
