To login into a software you use a password , that is the 1st factor of Authorization, then you insert your Key and press the button , that is the second factor.So if someone gets hold of your password they still can't login in without your stick. It's almost Bullet proof if you ask me. If you lose your Yubikey and wished to deactivate the Yubikey you would do so via a mobile phone which you used to setup your software in the first place. For example you would receive an SMS or Email depending on the Software producer. **Q: Are these keys available to buy in England, they all seem to come from the US or EU with very long delivery times in many cases and no warranty.** A: I bought my first two keys from Yubico UK through Amazon last year but don’t know why they don’t appear here anymore. I have a few of these keys, and I can't imagine security without them. 2FA yes but only offline! No SMS, no passkey on a device we don't control, or in the cloud etc. No intermediaries, i.e. “we want to have copies just in case, for your safety” ha ha of course. It's only safe outside the network. Login, password, that can be intercepted, but a key that's in your pocket is impossible.
