A lidded metal trash can like this is important to have in a painting studio, as it will keep oily rags or other combustibles from catching fire. It's not cheap, and that's why I waited so long to buy it - but it's WORTH it! What I love about this, along with the fact that it's metal and well-made and functional, is that the yellow color is so pretty! I love it.

So get this. I ordered this over the top Steel Safety can for pet waste. Its not cheap but it made of heavy gauge steel and powder coated in a nice shade of FD Red. Works perfectly in my garage until trash pickup day. Place a 13gal kitchen trash liner inside, one foot opens the lid "hands free" and bombs away ! Wife raised an eyebrow to the co$t of the safety can but when she used it for a half dozen times, she loved it. No smell, its all trapped in the waste can. I'm a Hero around here now until I make a mess of things once more, but this Red Safety waste can is a winner. FIVE STARS from me. Robert P. Florence, AZ

This is a great product and had surprising (for our day and age) quality. It is fairly heavy gauge steel material and the mechanism is also. There are no plastic parts and it is well built and looks to be a very durable product. It was also a very good value for this money. I would highly recommend this product for its stated purpose.

Well made product that will make my shop safer and more organized. Simple concept, foot pedal works well and the size is appropriate. Two feature that would make this container better: 1.) it would help if the top opened a bit wider (see video) 2.) a removable inner metal pail with a handle would be very helpful for emptying the can. Perhaps there are reasons I am unaware of that preclude an inner pail, don’t know. There is a lift handle on the back of the can (see photo) but it is still clumsy to empty this container. Good quality, solid powder coat and the mechanism is simple and effective. But it could be better. I made it better with a metal roller base and a metal handle for the top (see photo) so it easier to pull around the shop and open the top because the foot lever is kind of lame.

Quality, industrial grade ..... a fine example of what "Made in USA" means. I bought this can based on the fact that my company and the base I work on, have these same cans in use.

I recently had two separate fires in my trash cans for my shop. I have been using a 5 gallon bucket as a trash can. The first started probably from cleaning up with oily rags thrown in the trash (used Superzilla). The other may have been by welding nearby. This trash can works great that I can put a 5 gallon bucket inside of it for easy emptying and not having a mess in the metal trash can. The lid closes with a seal so if there is a fire it will be smothered by not having air.

We were so tired of the can we have been using, a metal round can with a lid you manually pull off. We have kept it on our back patio, always kept double trash bags in it, and use a pooper scooper to keep our back yard nice and tidy for our Dachshunds. Well, that other can would fill up with water every time it rained even though we kept the lid on. What a mess! Got so tired of it that I have looked for months for a better option. Couldn't find any that looked promising for the use we needed it for. Until I found this Justrite can. It was pricey for us, so we thought about it for a while, dealing with that other icky can. Then after all the rain we have had lately where we live, we were just over that other can so decided to try this one. Wow, what a difference! I can't say enough good things about how a simple change like this has made for us. Being able to put trash bags into the can still, which we need and like to do, and then being able to just step on the pedal and lift the lid, and having the lid be larger than the opening so rain doesn't accumulate in it... all of these things just make this the perfect can for our pooper-scooping needs. We are very happy we spent the money and got it. Would buy again.

No more laying linseed soaked cloths flat in separate locations to prevent spontaneous combustion. Just flick them in this small bin then burn them when I have time.

Excellent quality. Just like you would find in a business. It’s the same. It’s great. I can now feel safe about my oily rags. Instead of throwing them outside and laying them on the deck. Gross. It worked but it’s unsightly. This is better
