Everyone has desires - deep, deep desires for significance, approval, love, acceptance - many things. Most of us want to live a meaningful life, be loved and make a difference in this world. This book truly will transform the life of the person who reads it AND applies what you learn. The idea that Jesus actually likes you, specific, individual qualities about you is the first concept that grabbed my attention and made me think. Prior to reading this book I had given that idea only very brief thought. Since reading this book, I've come to understand that a love relationship can only happen between people who like each other. And so, my romance has truly begun. I've walked with the Lord for most of my life on some level. I'm 43 years old, a ministry leader, mentor, teacher, worship leader, mother, wife, friend, etc. But this is the first time I understood that Jesus actually likes me and wants to be with me and all I can tell you is that deeply knowing this to be true, to be a tangible fact changes everything. EVERYTHING!!! This book isn't cheap but I've already bought 3 copies and convinced several others to do the same because I want as many people as possible to have this info. I actually have recorded this entire book in my own voice because I want to be able to listen to it more to help my mind understand the concepts. It's not mainstream understanding of the faith journey, but it is consistent with the truth of Scripture. You won't regret reading this book.

Simply put, this book can change your life! As I read this book, coloring it yellow with my highlighter, I kept thinking: "That is so true, I never thought of it that way before." It felt as if Tony Stoltzfus was sitting right beside me explaining the transformation process. As I let the information sink in, took the time to do the exercises and watch the videos, the truth of the whole process clicked and I have begun to heal from pain that I didn't even realize was holding me back! Freedom is my word for the year, and if it is something you want for your life, you will want to read this book. To be truthful, sometimes it gets a little uncomfortable, but if our desire is to have a more intimate, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, the book WILL help you make that happen. Walking in the freedom of not only knowing I am loved by God + actually believing it = transformed life!

This is one of the best books I have ever read about personal transformation, particularly in the context of a relationship with Jesus. Tony begins by challenging the idea that every decision is right or wrong, and instead introduces a paradigm focused around a God initiated process in which we have the opportunity to know Him better. Even as believers, we often pursue things, position, relationships, rule-following, etc. to fill the voids in our life or attempt to protect ourselves from pain. This leads to a misconception that God's way means a stoic existence being satisfied without getting what we yearn for. Ironically, we often talk about the God-shaped hole in our lives. Starting with the premise that His sheep know His voice, Tony describes the process for getting our needs and desires met in God, which has been God's desire and design all along. God has been setting me free from perfectionism for several years, and this book brought a whole new level of understanding legalism and what grace and God's sovereignty really look like. You will want to attend a workshop after reading this, and I HIGHLY recommend you do. You will not be disappointed.

An excellent book at finding out what are real desires are.

This book changed my families life. How we treat each other, our needs/desires can be addressed. Young and old. The book started as a hard read, getting used to how the auther thinks, figuring where the emphasis or maybe a comma should be was challenging. But after perserving you can begin to understand the essence. Highly reccomended.

Great book about relationships with God

Bist Du auch ein Flatlander? Ich verstehe nicht ganz warum dieses Buch , dieser Author so ein Mauerblümchen-Dasein bei Amazon hat. Da gibt es Titel 'The Fear of God' die tausende Rezessionen haben. Der Author (Selbst jahrelanger Management Coach) führt sehr flott in Fälle seiner Klienten ein, die als sie sich im Gebet das Herz öffneten, eine Begebung mit dem lebendigen Gott haben, ohne 40 Tage Fasten, ohne 40 Tage ununterbrochen gehorsam gewesen zu sein, ohne 40 Tage von Büchern und Videos über gesalbte Männer, halt wie ein Flat-Lander der nur in zwei Dimension lebt Gott richtig begegnen zu wollen (Mehr möchte ich nicht verraten). Mit diesem Ansatz (zurück die pers. Begegnung mit Gott) bleibt er aber nicht mit charismatisch üblicher entleerter Deutungshoheit hängen sondern vermittelt sehr behutsam und glaubwürdig, wie man sich auf diesen Gott einlassen kann. Auch an vielen einsichtlichen Beispielen und stellt auch Tools zur Seite um alte Glaubenssätze und emotionale reaktive Wunden zu überwinden, zu heilen. Damit reiht er sich in die Richtung von Dr. Seans Buch 'BIG GOD little devil' ein, nur dass sein Buch ein mehr praktischer Leitfaden ist Flatland (oder auch Nimmerland nach Peter Pan) in die nächste Dimension zu entkommen. Hervorragend! Vom Inhalt absolut zeitlos und immer aktuell. Einzig ein Wermuts-tropfen dass die Links zu den Videos, die 2014 erstellt wurden nicht mehr stimmig sind, das finde ich sehr schade!

An excellent book to help me understand my desires and learn how to have them only met in a wonderful relationship with Jesus. Also helps you ask great questions to yourself and others to bring about inner healing.

This is an amazing and life-changing book! I normally devour books, but this one I had to slow down and re-read sections because it was blowing my mind! It was dislodging old thought patterns that kept me stuck in performance and making sure I made the "right" choices so God would be happy and replacing them with a deeper understanding of God's love and His process of change in my life. I have experienced such freedom and transformation reading this book that I have been giving copies to my friends and family and recommending it to anyone who will listen!
