This hammer was very impressive. It's not very often I give 5 stars, but this bay boy deserves it. It's high quality, inexpensive, heavy, durable, and too my surprise, it didn't have that stupid "Amazon Basics" logo on it. I would buy this again, but I doubt I'll ever need too.

FIRST GRIPE: It's made in China.Was told it was made in the US. Aside from that, great quality. Slighhhhhtly contoured around gripping area.Simple look, will age well.If you're working a heavier project I recommend getting a traditional hammer as the wood probably won't hold up well from being thrown around. Also not much confident grip, which is fine for lighter projects, but just a heads up.

I needed a light weight hammer to keep in my bee keeping tool box for quick repairs using small, thin nails. This fits the bill perfectly. It’s not art work, but it’s functional. The hickory handle is smooth so I wrapped the handle with hockey tape for improved grip. This is advertised as an 8 oz hammer (a standard claw hammer is usually 16 oz and a framing hammer is 20-22 oz). Would also be good for my grandson for his first real hammer.

The size of this Hammer is very handy. bought four of them! Keep one in my car, one in the kitchen, one in my garage tool area and one in the laundry room.Not as heavy as a standard size hammer, but drives nails in with the same Force. Highly recommended

I did not buy for light weight. This is fantastic bargain excellent hammer. Nice balance, smooth handle, good head and claw for pulling nails. Quality is outstanding for today’s market place. Pride in workmanship still shows in this hammer.

It could barely be wrong to go with amazon basic, Great value. The handle is easy to hold and easy to get the job done. However it's also to leave marks on the impact area.

I actually bought this to use as a craft project for my husband for Father's Day. The hammer was inexpensive, has a nice wood handle and was good size for my intentions.

This is a 250 - 300 gm weight claw hammer ; i bought this for light work at home ( day to day needs - wall / book shelf works can be done ) . handle is ergonomic and good qquality.

Nice quality, looks and feels premium.

Its a small hammer, i bought it as a tent peg hammer for camping, it works. It has a small head and claw, but its the small size so what do you expect.
