I suffer from carpal tunnel & it's progressed up my arms & into my elbows. Even sleeping with wrist & forearm support, I still wake up with tingling, stiff fingers & burning elbow pain. I had purchased this product in a regular sport pack, but would have to ice or heat the areas one side at a time. This style is a godsend!! When my elbows or wrist are inflamed, I can strap one of these on both sides & not have to sit & hold in place. I can begin to get relief while still going about preparing for the day. Even better is the fact that it doesn't freeze into a solid sheet of ice, which can actually become very painful. With the smart beads, you get just the right amount of flexible cold or heat that you may need, without causing more harm than good. Very durable product & I highly recommend!!

Used this many times. My old one had a seam break and the internal granules began to spill out. Like the product so much that I repurchased.

Okay, so this is really good for treating a small area like the wrist or hand or small elbow part. The only reason I did not give it a 5 rating is that it does not as cold as I would like for it to be and it does not keep cold. However, it does the job of relieving swelling and inflammation. You just have to have more than one of it if you want cold for longer than 10 minutes. It's also cheap enough that if I give it to a client and they don't return it, well, it didn't cost that much to begin with. I had a client healing from a dog bite to the hand/wrist area and she said it helped. I also like the fact that it has an attached strap, so you don't have to fumble with one. Okay, so it really should get a 4.5 for that.

I purchased this product to address joint and muscle pain. I normally use cold therapy, but decided to try to hot therapy first since it took lees time to warm the pack than freeze it. Following the manufacturers instructions I heated the pack. It did not warm well I had to heat it twice. Also it did not stay warm for more than 5 minutes. Since I usually use cold therapy I then put the room temperature pack in the freezer for about 4 hours. When I went to use it, the pack was somewhat cold, however it didn't stay cold for more than 5 minutes. I will say that the pack is very comfortable and stays in place well, however, the cold/hot feature is not up to par. I am returning it.

Nice but compared to the other two I bought along with this one, it seems to be only half full of the little pearls so expect a short time use time before its warm. Not sure if they are all like that or I just got a defective one with less fill. Also the strap is good for me; wont fit around my husbands pudgy waist. Its much smaller that I expected but still a pretty nice LITTLE ice pack. I like it very much for about a 10minute use.

I bought them a long time ago and they're still very useful. I've never tried using them for heat, only cold, but they work well. They're pretty flexible and good for elbows and knees, which is how I use them. The fit might not be great if you're a small person though.

After purchasing another Thera Pearl product for knee pain, I bought this after getting heat sickness at a summer outdoor fair. As one that has always had a problem in high heat, I learned long ago that if you can keep your wrist/pulse points cool, it helps your entire body stay cool. What better way than a comfortable little pack-o-pearls! I'm so pleased with this 'mini cooler'! I feel like it's my personal outdoor air conditioner. Inside heavy duty plastic are beads suspended in gel. And just like my THERA PEARL Knee Wrap , it is easy to wear and stays nice and cool.
