The word "blackout" in the product name is misleading. These do not actually blackout all light, but they do help to block out a large percentage of the light. If you want actual blackout curtains, you may want to get the Ikea blackout curtain liners, which are incredibly effective. These curtains generally look great and look more expensive than they are, although the material is quite thin.

These curtains were absolutely beautiful! I love the linen look, so many curtains you find are "faux silk" and just look horrible. Unfortunately, I did end up returning this, because while I was waiting for them to ship, I found a set locally that match my living room colors better. If I had another window that needed curtains, I would have kept these.
