Correct part, way cheaper than dealership
First off, most diy postings say to do the transmission thermostat at the same time. I figured I would be the one to not break mine removing the expansion tank...yeah just buy the thermostat ahead of time. It is almost impossible not to break it now that I see where it is. The part is so brittle that it literally crumbled when I touched it. Now to the main review:The part fit exactly as expected. It felt as high quality or better than the stock part. Only advice is to make sure your hoses "click" back in place once you are done installing. The top hose connection looked on including the clip being set but it had a tiny leak that I had to clean up. After locating the leak I pushed on the hose one more time and it made a click sound. No more leak. That was my fault not the parts fault.

works, but not perfect replacement for 2003 330i
so far working ok, but not a perfect fit. Had to trim off one of the hose connector tabs so the hose could slip on all the way. Also, getting the bottom clip on took some elbow grease to get far enough down for the clip to clip. This was replaced on a 2003 330i. One odd problem now is that the water level indicator light comes on every now and then. I'll try to replace the sensor with the original one and see if that helps.

Seems to be a good fit on to the radiator and with the upper radiator hose, which is not always the case. It doesn't show it here, but it also came with a bleed screw already in place. NOTE: This is for a car with Manual Transmission. If you have an automatic, you will also want to get the Thremostat that sits in the bottom of this thing. They always come out in pieces.

Would recommend to anyone needing an e46 expansion tank
Package came as expected, was wrapped carefully in bubble wrap. Sensor and clip came pre-installed which is nice so you don't have to mess with it. Perfect fit for 2004 e46 325i. I would definitely recommend replacing the tank before 100k miles because it will begin to split one day and then you'll need a tank asap. This does not come with a cap, but its not a big deal because you can use your old one and it'll fit...

survived 4 years
fit well on a 2005 X3, lasted just over 4 years before cracking down the side, not so bad for the price

Perfect!
Great product. OEM quality. It was the exact same as factory so there were no issues with it fitting. Fairly easy install for the E46. You remove the air intake, disconnect about 4 hoses, disconnect the sensor from under the car (easily visible after removing the engine splash shield). It should then slide out the top. Change the sensor and put the new one in. I'm a novice at car repairs and even I can do it.

Better than expected
Nicer than expected for the price. I chose to use the OEM coolant sensor after reading the reviews on this brand and having read they can fail early on. Fitment was a bit more snug on the bottom when installing than expected. External level indicator instructions broke off rather easily. No big deal.

Same as original
Same size as original. Installed easily. Plastic is a bit sturdier than other after market ones. Metal would be great but couldn’t find one.
