Kimikiss: Pure Rouge - Collection 2

Great for a hopeless romantic.
Great continuation of the same series. I just wish they had a dubbed option.

It is an absolutely delightful series. I am writing this review for "Collection 2" only because there are a couple for the first and I wanted this to also have a rating; both collections comprise a single series and must be seen together. For some reason, Kimikiss is not as well-known as Clannad or Kanon; and that is a shame. It is every bit as emotionally engaging, without the supernatural or tragedy aspects. Maybe its the silly name; but you get beyond that right away. There are a lot of "main" characters, all of whom have complete personalities and develop in a realistic and satisfying way during the series. That is NOT to say that the plotlines are predictable. There were many times when I did not know what action or decision a character would take--and I was often surprised. The animation is great--sometimes slight changes in facial expression convey tremendous depths of meaning. The music (one main title, with 2 versions of animation, and two end titles) is super and will stay with you. The dialog is only Japanese with English subtitles (which I believe is the best way to watch any anime), so if you require dubbing this is not for you.The bottom line is that this is one of the most enjoyable animes of its type I have seen (and that includes other great ones like "True Tears," "Fruits Basket," "Clannad," "Kanon," etc.). It has everything one could hope for--except MORE episodes!
