Plastic Model Kit - USS Pittsburgh Ca-72 Heavy Cruiser

The there is nothing negative to say about this model. I'm going to do a diarama stand to go with it to give to an elderly Navy vet.

After my uncle found my dad a Revell model of the USS Helena, I was asked by my dad if I would build it for him. I did, and I was so disappointed with that model that I searched the internet until I found out that the Pittsburgh and the Helena were sister ships.Then I found this model on Amazon and I immediately purchased it. When I received the model kit in the mail, I opened it and I did a thorough inventory of the kit. This kit was absolutely complete and nothing was missing.

It was a good ship model.

Great out, good details. It does have tiny pieces so it’s not appropriate for a younger kid or kid without steady hands. My 15 year old was fine with it though.

The main reason I bought this model is because I live in Pittsburgh, PA. I first saw a huge model of this in the local Soldiers and Sailors hall years ago--it was at least 10 foot long.This model is smaller but has a very satisfying 16 inch or so length. Also the detail is good with little flash. It is just like the kits I used to build 50 plus years ago. I'm glad to add it to my collection.

The kit is terrible. The instructions are useless and over complicated and there is no glue or really anything to help get the parts put together. It’s missing things, and even made from cheap plastic. The company didn’t bother to even put on the colors! It’s a throwaway and terrible quality. Do not recommend.
