Went to lake champlain and it was low. Hit bottom a few times. No skegdamage. This really helpedUpdate. Upon closer inspection i did find a half inch dent on bottom of the skeg shield but it was at a place where the skeg did not come in contact with the shield. Small gap on bottom. Still satisfied that it works as it should.

Fits good after the engine hit a rock and broke the skeg on my 110 Johnson. I own a welding company and have seen what a replacement one takes in labor and time to get it right. This bolt on one saved time and money as I did not have to remove the output shaft and damage the seals and bearings with the heat needed to weld the aluminum. Heck, I don't even have to paint it.

Easy to install, great fit, improved steering performance! Must have for all boat owners.

Worked as advertised and actually was as easy to install as manufacturer said it was. Drill your holes, slip product over the skeg, gently tap into place, put the fasteners in, and you git it. Got through the process with nary a bruise, scrape, cut, twisted or smashed finger, 9-1-1 call, or ecological disaster. Need an additional bonus? Actually makes your outboard look better. Seriously. Doesn't get any better. Highly recommend.

Skeg was slightly worn on 90 Johnson outboard. Installed this protector, looks great and works well. Hit some shallow mudflats a couple times so far and no damage or wear.

I hit an oyster bed (or 4) with my boat while fishing in the gulf, and ripped my skew to (censored). My engine had a really bad pull, and I was concerned that my entire boat was at risk (I/O). I bought this, and trimmed a bit more skeg off, and boom, runs like new! This has give, so if it hits, it will be destroyed, but that was intended, as the stronger ones won't break, because your engine will.

Forgot to tilt the motor when pulling up the boat ramp. Curled the skeg on our brand new 200 Etec. First went to the local prop shop. They could fix it for $130 but wanted the lower unit removed. Another $200 for that. Straightened it out myself and ordered the SkegSheild. Slipped nicely over the damaged skeg.The install took 15 minutes. The engine looks better then new. Very happy with this purchase.

works as advertised but a bit pricey

2001 evinrude 225 HO. Really simple install, Took 5-10 mins and looks good. Notch for drain hole on gearcase didnt line up but guard does not block plug so not a big deal. Should last for years.

Yes it looks and fit great on the 2001 Suzuki 115 HP outboard. Gives the lower unit a new appearance. Only thing it seems the mounting fasteners are getting rusty in where home Allen keys fits to tighten them up. Was suppose to be all stainless. Showing signs of rust after only three uses.

I didnt realize I was missing so much of my skeg until I got this. I thought I needed to take it to a welding shop so was happy to find this. Got it in 2 days, installed in 15 minutes. Its like a new boat! Steers and tracks much better.
