These Saved my Proverbial Bacon and my Literal Engine
These extractors worked great to pull out the broken shank of a spark plug that was left in my engine when it oh-so-helpfully snapped right half in two while I was trying to remove it.Now, before you get all indignant on me 😉 about the spark plug, the thing was, apparently, stuck in there because the spark plug hole was smashed shut when the junky cylinder head cracked between every single valve and shifted the geometry of the hole. I didn't know that at the time, so I bought these extractors, hammered one into the inside of the broken threads of the plug, and drove that thing out with ease. Then, you know... I replaced the cylinder head anyway, making the whole thing an exercise in futility. Hindsight is 20/20.But the product worked! The straight cut edges prevent the threads from ballooning outward into the hole while you try to remove the stuck object. This is an important feature of this style of extractor.

Nice set
Nice set and selection but use caution when using because if you snap one it's almost impossible to drill it out

Absolutely Worth Every Penny
I bought this as a last ditch effort to remove a broken spark plug base in my Jeep WJ 4.7L. Just so happened to be the last cylinder closest to the firewall on the drivers side and I was puzzled on how to get this piece out. Watched a few YouTube videos of people using these with what seemed to be good success so I tried it. I hammered it down in a good bit and put a 24" breaker bar on a square socket and to much my surprise I got a good "snap" that scared me. Turns out it worked perfectly! I am very pleased in this purchase. Saved me about $1800.

Didn't work for me...
Maybe would work on a different bolt. Mine was a smaller philips screw holding the door on my dryer. Loctited in and stripped. Drilled it first hoping this would grab the space and remove it.

Broke my motorcycle spark plug
I used a torque wrench to tighten spark plug on my motorcycle...I over did it and broke spark plug... Called a few mechanics and was advised that it will cost between $250 to $300 to fix it...I was able to remove the piece that stayed behind with this tool for a fraction of the price ... I am happy !!!

Good tool
I am a retired tool maker. I like this style over the spiral type. The spiral one expands the bolt in soft material. The straight style works better. A good go too tool.
