M.B. Sturgis Inc. MB Sturgis 888001 Auto Changeover Regulator

This worked great for about a year then my LP detector started going off. After smelling the leak I opened my LP storage compartment and immedeatly located the leak because it was leaking so bad out the back it was hard to miss. I'm not sure what failed inside the regulator but this was located inside a compartment isolated from vibration, sun and outside contamination. There is no visible signs of damage. I cannot recommend this product due to the way it failed, potentially very dangerous.

This valve is well made and solid. Its rated at 500,000 BTU's and maintains 11 inch's of water column of High volume output, which is much higher volume then the one I replaced, which was only 50,000 BTU. I tested it, running my RV LP water heater, LP stove burners, smaller LP 1/4 fitting fed outside Barbecue, LP fridge, LP heater and one LP converted Honda EU2200I Gen. running the micro air easy start converted 15,000 BTU Colman Mach A/C all at the same time, off one of the front tongue mount Propane tank. At 5,200 Ft. Altitude. all but one of the Feed lines are 3/8. Great product and works well.

Not only did this not come with a mounting bracket, but one isn’t even available. it also didn’t come with the brass adapters. Both pictured in the listing. I’ve purchased dozens of these over the years and they always come with a mounting bracket and brass adapters.

Fit just right, works great

I bought this Sturgis changeover regulator primarily because it is a company here in the US and it has a high flow rating. I bought it a couple of months ahead of getting our park model rv so it would be on hand for the tech to install when they delivered. It worked fine for awhile but the changeover lever broke. It was past the window to return to Amazon so I emailed the company under the one year warranty with no response. I then called their customer support. The rep I spoke with said that they had a bad run of this item and they had none to replace it with but would talk with his supervisor when he returned from vacation. That has been a couple months now so it must be an extended vacation. I would not buy this regulator again as it seems that it has a flaw and the company will not stand behind them.

Works well, great price & quality

Product had bad fitting called and emailed Sturgis have had no response once they dais they would send me a fitting that was damaged. Not a good way for business they promise something and wont deliver will never get anything from MBSturgis again
