Great slippers when I got them
OMG! It's 5/2016 and I'm still using these! They are beat so don't think there gonna look good. I like to slip my feet in to run outside for whatever reasons. I keep sticking my feet in these versus some sketchers I bought recently.I did read reviews about sizing and I wear a 7.5 wide normally. So based on that, I ordered a size 8. Without socks they fit but the heel slides up/down when walking. With socks on which is how I normally wear slippers - they fit perfect. I scored and got these for $23 bucks. Only 4 stars because made in China and seem a tad "cheap" construction wise however - they fit well, are comfortable and don't have an abnormal odor. I have wide feet and I didn't find the toe area tight at all. I'm sure these will eventually stretch somewhat like any other brand of this type of slippers usually do. So, I'd base the size on your personal usage. I use them for taking the dog out or whenever I need to go short distances outside in cold crappy weather. I don't usually wear them around the house unless it's crazy cold -0 outdoors. If I get two years of use out of these it's well worth the price for this type of slipper you can wear outdoors if necessary.A year later (10/2013): I'm still wearing these. I don't use in warm weather but they will definitely last another winter for myself. One slipper started having a worn spot on the back side of heel. I ironed on a small tan patch to cover it. Quick fix and just giving suggestions. Wish you could get 1/2 size but not unhappy with what I original got. I would change to 5 stars but I can't because they are made in China, but isn't everything anymore. gag.Update again: It's 2 yrs later from purchase and yep...still wearing these when I need too although...they are kinda beat now. Flattened foot bed and all that. I did say if I got 2 years of use I'd be happy with purchase so..I'm satisfied. I'd like a new pair of slippers but not at current price. Recently got these for $11 bucks: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GPVTX5G/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. My beater slippers feel (not look) new again versus spending full price for these again. Next discounted price; I'm all over this one.I love my beater slippers.

Small fit and...
I've ordered four of these now so hopefully my review will be helpful. These fit SMALL. I wear a 7 in an ordinary tennis shoe and I ordered an 8 for the slipper and my foot barely squeaked in. When I ordered the 9 however, the fit was perfect. My first pair have lasted a very long time but the interior "fleece" has to be fake. It was worn away within a month or so of wear. The exterior and build of the slipper is great. They can handle concrete, rain and wet grass with no issues. From the outside, they look and wear great. The interior on the other hand is gone, so gone it may have never actually been there :) To fix that issue, I picked up a pair of Dr. Scholls Gel Inserts for $10. I cut them to fit the inside of the slipper and it's perfect. If only they actually had a soft interior rather than spending another $10 or so on inserts I'll have to keep replacing. As the outside is wearing well and has lasted so long, I may need to invest in another set of inserts. Overall, a good purchase as we have chilly weather and I go in and out regardless of weather and the slippers have taken the beating well.Edit: 11/6/2015 Still wearing the pair that fit. Occasionally add a new gel insert. Holding up very well.

Deceptive: NOT real shearling
"Women's Galaxie Shearling Slipper," this is called. "Cozy shearling lining," claims the product description. Shearling. What is shearling? "Shearling is a skin from a recently sheared sheep or lamb that has been tanned or dressed with the wool left on. It has a suede surface on one side and a clipped fur surface on the other," says Wikipedia. That's what I thought! Do we object to using Wiki as a reference? Well, that first sentence appears to have been copied directly from Merriam Webster, a respectable dictionary. "Definition of shearling: skin from a recently sheared sheep or lamb that has been tanned and dressed with the wool left on." I've bought shearling slippers before, and this accurately describes they were made of: sheepskin with the wool left on. That's what I was looking for. The title and product description of these Tamarac slippers naturally led me to assume that "shearling slippers" is what I was purchasing this time, too.Are these Tamarac slippers actually made of shearling? Alas, no. But because of the deceptive title and descriptive, you might not realize that until you've already bought them and inspected them closely. The lining is actually some sort of woven wool that has been glued to a suede backing. It's FAKE shearling. Or we can be fancy and call it "faux." But it is not real shearling. If you want shearling slippers, look elsewhere. I'm annoyed because I didn't discover this until I had already worn them a little, at which point I didn't think I could return them. I guess I should have combed through the reviews more carefully, because some other people were saying the same thing. Are they decent slippers anyway? Sure, I guess. I'm so annoyed about the deceptive advertising that they will never be my favorite. Every time I look at them, I just see FAKE shearling. The lining does claim to be made of real wool at least, though at this point, who knows? They're warm enough, though they don't fit quite as comfortably on my foot as some other slippers I've owned. They're a little wider than they need to be, so they don't feel very snug on the foot. I find them more comfortable with the ruff turned up, though then they start pulling down my socks at the heel. I usually find myself switching to my old slippers eventually. I'm also annoyed that there was a big plastic label on both soles that I couldn't take off without leaving such a sticky residue that the slippers stuck to the floor with every step.So in the end I'm giving these two stars, having docked one for each major annoyance: (1) FAKE shearling, (2) pull down my socks, (3) annoying sticky labels on the bottom.
