Echo Show 8 (1st Gen, 2020 release) - Smart speaker with 8" HD screen, stereo sound & hands-free entertainment with Alexa (Black)

Since I bought the Echo Dot, I wanted a Display enabled device. I recommend purchasing the product because it has lots of Skills built-in and has great sound quality. I am writing this review after usage of around six months. I have pre-ordered the device at its launch in India. Pros: Great sound quality Nice 8" touch screen display and viewing angle is also good Voice Assistant is available in both Hindi and English Language Manual Camera on-off slider (Physically blocks the camera so no worries about privacy) Microphone mute button 3.5 mm audio Jack/Bluetooth connectivity for connecting external speakers Dual-band WiFi Support Supports Prime Vide, Spotify, Uber and many more so you can seamlessly continue the existing work with voice Bought for ₹8999 but Worth the price for the product quality Cons: YouTube is not built-in but still can play YouTube videos by opening browser Average Camera (used for video calling) Weight is around 1Kg but I think this won't affect more because it is not a battery-powered portable device. Overall it is a nice product in this price range. You can also go for the Echo Show but it is much costly and Echo Show 5 is also available but that has the average audio quality and small screen (5.5")

Great product. I am using it with my outside camera & it's work fine...no issue at all after using it more then two years.

This one is real cool and impressive. Had seen many negative feedbacks and was concerned but I found it suitable for the price I paid and I know what to expect. - Voice recognition is good - Volume is very good and I can hear it well in the other room - Connected with digital bulb and thats working nice - Cool with netflix - youtube opens fine ( thru bing browser) - It keeps suggesting what to ask alexa and works well - Able to view webseries totally fine - Camera quality was ok, not great , but i could not use it yet as dont have anyone else with same device, so i cant call them - Caling wrks with the other alexa device i have Overall its nice as long as you understand its still a new thing in market and might not be able to give everything demanded.

It's a good product....I am writing review after use of one year ......My wife is using it for listening music specially at morning mostly devotional songs . Sound quality is good ... Good voice recobginy even from long distance.. touch screen is smooth.....good connectivity through blutooth....we can use as speaker for TV or Mobile.....itsl will great device if you already have other Amazon devices like fire stick, extra speaker etc. We can easily manage through alexa mobile app. I have two complaints about this product, first is there is no YouTube app in echo show 8. You have to use browser for YouTube. It's also fine but can use voice commands when you use YouTube on browser. My second and most important complaint : Amazon photo app is not available in India and because of this we can not use this as a photo frame. Facebook is available but I haven't use it. Overall great product.

Everything about voice recognition is great in echo devices. Perfect for home automation and devices integration. wide range of products will be compatible with alexa. Sound quality is awsome. Touch is bit slow and interface can be improved. Note: Don’t expect much appsc it has only netflix, prime video, prime music, Silk browser and there is no app store. Youtube opens in silk browser and difficult to operate youtube through voice commands.

Superb display as well as the sound quality

My wife & 1 purchased the Amazon Echo Show 8 in February 2022. That's less than 18 months ago!! We are incredibly disappointed with its performance. The sound quality of the Echo Show 8 is subpar, to say the least. The crackling noise not only disrupts the audio, but it also makes it nearly impossible to decipher what is being said. Whether it's playing music or interacting with voice assistants, the muffled and distorted sound ruins the experience. Considering the price we paid for this device (Rs,8445), we expected much better sound quality. It is frustrating to invest in a supposedly premium Amazon product only to end up with a defective speaker. This flaw diminishes the overall functionality of the Echo Show 8, as it hampers the primary purpose of providing clear, high-quality audio. I have attempted various troubleshooting methods in an effort to resolve this issue. I have adjusted volume settings, restarted the device multiple times, and even conducted a reset. Unfortunately, none of these measures have rectified the crackling sound problem. It seems like a hardware flaw that cannot be remedied by simple software tinkering. I had the device examined by the Amazon appointed agency CTDI India. Their offer of replacement with a refurbished piece at a cost of Rs,5699 and a 3 month warranty is ridiculous. That's 70% of the original price ! And their buy-back is a mere Rs,2000!!! Given my experience with the Echo Show 8, I cannot recommend this product to others. It is incredibly frustrating to have spent hard-earned money on a device that fails to deliver on its basic promise of clear audio. Amazon needs to address this issue promptly and offer a suitable solution to customers who have faced similar problems. In conclusion, the Amazon Echo Show 8 is a major disappointment. The speaker crackling and unclear sound make it nearly unusable. I regret purchasing this device and would advise potential buyers to consider other alternatives with better sound quality and reliability. It is pertinent to mention that we are Amazon dedicated customers since 2004...!!!
