Ate the O-rings out of my Sherwin Williams Chemical Filtered Hand pump sprayer
This is a very harsh solvent. I usually use Prep-all for pre-prep of my panels/parts before painting them. I poured this in and let it sit for a day or two. To make sure you understand I paid about $50 for a Sherwin Williams Automotive Industrial Chemical Hand pump sprayer that filters the fluid so no debris is ejected onto the parts. It ate all the O-rings out of the sprayer. I could not even pump it. The O-rings material was sitting at the bottom of the container when I went to open it up. So do NOT use this type of chemical applicator.

Doesnt do what it is supposed to do, Prep the surface for painting
I had a older can of this exact Grease and Wax Remover also made by Dupli-Color which I had for about 15 years. I used it for every automotive paint prep job i had. It lasted awhile since it only required a small amount to be used to get the job done. I finally ran out and bought this "New Compliant" formula and got the same results as you did. I sanded my rims so I could paint it black. I used this prep to remove all the hand oils and residual wax that was on the rims before I painted them as I would have done with the old formula. It smeared the sanded paint like it melted it from the rim, mind you it was factory painted and I just sanded it to make the surface prepped for paint adhesion. It also left an oily residue on the surface that wont allow the new paint to stick to the surface. I had to wash it off with dish washing detergent and it still had a oily residue. I ended up re-sanding the entire surface and using alcohol to prep it. I was very disappointed with this product. I though maybe it was the original paint on the rims that was the issue so the next project painting a metal bumper, I tried using it again and it left the same oily residue on the bumper. I gave up on this product and havent used it since. I DO NOT recommend this product.

Leaves a very oily residue. Garbage.
Do not buy. I am on my 3rd containers of this product. CM-541, CM-542, and CM-543. In the past, this product would work as expected, stripping off any oil or water based contaminants. I would use this product to strip and clean off grease markers, sometimes called china markers. CM-541 and CM-542 easily clean the material you are working with, but leave a thick oily residue. I called Dupli-Color product support and spoke with Juan. The final suggestion was to shake the hell out of the quart for several minutes. Didn't work. It was suggested I purchase (go figure) their new formula Grease & Wax Remover that is a soy based product. (Tofu hippy sh!t). The new product doesn't even dissolve a grease marker. Auto body shops are recommending Cromax, Final Klean by Axalta. I will try to upload a video, and you can easily see what is going on. If I can't add it to this review, I'll post another.
