I look back fondly on the days when our deep-rooted partisanship didn't infiltrate every element of society. However, the corrupting influence of this book couldn't be more evident: 1) The cast of the story is unmistakably diverse, and does not include any white men 2) Baby owl is constantly being triggered 3) The lack of guns in this story is telling 4) Why is so much of this book redacted? 5) True fans of the Baby Owl franchise would agree that there is something "off" about grey squirrel Ever since we read this story, I've caught my daughter watching Rachel Maddow on numerous occasions. This despite our "no screen" policy for newborns. When she pointed out that her individual freedoms should be protected, I had to admit that she did learn some patriotic American values.
