Came on time, indeed earlier than expected. It is one very powerful laptop. A bargain! .Setting it up was a breeze. I have tried every feature/option this system offers: flawless! I am Extremely satisfied and would recommend it to anybody who is serious about computing.

Sticker say's Backlit Raised Tile Keyboard w/10-Key. Say's all s50 Series has this. False advertising !!! Most of my work is done in lowlight conditions and this was a very good reason to purchase this unit. I had looked at touchscreen models and chose this one based on the keyboard. Would have rated excellant except for this major problem. Can you help me with this major problem ?? I am very upset and have already installed my programs as I needed to use it promptly !!!

Great Laptop, I searched for weeks so I could buy the best laptop with a $650 budget. So I bought this one since it had features that you would only see in laptops that cost around $1000. First of all I have had only Toshiba Laptops, last one I had was a netbook, had it for 5 years and got my degree using that one. To make things short, I thought it was time to get a new one since Im going to study a Master degree, I wanted a bigger screen, a good processor, high Ram memory capacity and high ammount of space in the hard drive. So this one was the one, it has an i7 Intel Core processor (the best one out there) and 8 GB of Ram Memory (maybe twice than average), plus 750 GB of hard disk space, wich was enough for me.I received the laptop today, all the set up was fast, took me a little bit more than It should but because Im migrating from windows XP, and this is all new to me.I cant complain, it looks gorgeous, has everything I need, didnt come with any problems, its very fast. I love this machine.So why not 5 out of 5? Well, I really wanted to have the backlit keyboard and this one doesnt have one (despite that you even have a sticker that says it does), I knew that this one didnt have one but I sacrificed that because of the other great features I mentioned above. Also, the internal battery (non removal) was almost a deal braker to me, but then I thought that you cant have it all, I already have awesome features at a low price, so I sacrificed that too.So my final veredict is 4 out of 5, I recommend this Laptop to everyone who wants a high performance machine at the lowest price possible, and of course, its a Toshiba.

I purchased this laptop, for "occasional" use, and rarely, if ever turned on my desktop. It's quite fast for a laptop, great storage on the hard drive, and has great sound. (Harman-Kardon speakers).I initially gave it a 5-star rating, for the laptop, Windows 8.1 however, deserves a 2 star at best. . It's the most annoying version of Windows I've ever used. It has more issues than a lifetime subscription to a magazine, but that territory is well known by most.I have to amend my review a bit, since this morning, the laptop failed, having had it 5 weeks. It began to get "twitchy" a week or so ago, after a Windows "update".Now I get to go through the "repair" process. . I'm not real happy with Toshiba at this point. . I thought it would have held up a bit longer...

The laptop is well designed but the case and monitor edges are not well mated. When one catches an edge, it makes one feel they are separating. The apps have too many ads which is bothersome.

The comuputer works perfectly, its the truth all that it says included!Recommended to all the people! Love it !

After getting over the whole Windows 8 this laptop is a very nice computer. The display is big and colors are vibrant. The sound is mediocre with the speakers. This laptop is fast and is what I need to edit videos.

Really disappointed in this laptop. Bought it in May 2014. Two months later, the A key on the keyboard came off. Now ladies and gentlemen no freaking places on the internet sells the keyboard for this model (S55 A5176). Ironically ... not even freaking toshiba.Do yourself a favor and purchase another model: the L or C models, you can find parts easily for.
