Great book. Bought it for my student. Trying to encourage reading for enjoyment.

Loved loved loved this book,characters,, absolutely. This was a great read,didn't want it to end..The storyline was very entertaing.awesome story,so relatable and remind me of growing up when I was a child,highly recommend this book and author.

Brought this book for my wife. She was very happy and satisfied to read it again.

I placed my own life experiences with my mother and sisters. Then, my experience as a mother raising two children by myself, and the way each word of the character Mildred is relatable to any mother trying to figure it out and do her best, not just for herself, but more importantly for her children.

This story made me laugh, and made me cry. The resilience of this family as so eloquently told by this Author is heartfelt and resolute. Mother has problems. Children has problems. Problems come in all shapes and make life a learning experience for each one of these family members. Yet, through it all this family, as it is, persevered. Brushed themselves off and let their love for each other keep them on solid ground. This is truly a family that we all can relate to in one form or another. Good Read. Thank you Alice.

Terry McMillan has.done.it again. Her style makes.the.reader feel like you are actually in the room.with the characters. Mama was a.great read and I could empathize with the characters and the struggles they faced. A must read! Real life.poured out on paper. The.realism captivates you!
