DUALSHOCK 4 Back Button Attachment

When I first heard about these back button attachments, I wasn't too bothered/fussed about buying a set as I initially thought they were just a gimmick. However, after playing some games which requires pressing the L3 to sprint/run and/or having to remove your thumb off the right analogue stick to press a jump button which then hinders turning while jumping. I've found the back button attachment very helpful as you can program the 2 buttons to mimic any of the regular control pad buttons on the Dualshock 4. This means you are able to keep your thumbs on the analogue sticks while using your middle fingers to use the attachments buttons. The back button attachment also has its own screen to show which of its buttons are being used/assigned as. The lower section of the screen also doubles as a button to select/confirm one of the 3 programmable preset modes for its buttons. Programming the buttons are quite straightforward and works fine. The attachment is powered by the Dualshock 4 controller. It doesn't require its own power source, batteries, charger etc. The power is supplied to the attachment by the ext interface port located on the Dualshock 4 controller (usually used for charging the controller's or attaching a wired headset). There is also a headset input on the attachment so that players are still able to connect a wired headset to the Dualshock 4 if needed. If I had any complaints about the attachment there would be only 2 I can think of. This being: 1. Installation is quite awkward and on the first time you may feel like your going to damage something due to the very snug fit. However you do get used to how the attachment connects to the DS4 after a few times. Removal is a lot easier. I recommend a user to definitely check the installation guide diagrams/instructions that come in the box before attempting to connecting the attachment. 2. Unless you charge your Dualshock 4 controller via the usb port instead of the ext port. You will have to remove the attachment everytime to charge your controller. Personally. I prefer to use the ext port to charge my DS4 controller's as it provides a faster charging time and also cuts power once the controller is fully charged to prevent overcharging/damaging the DS4s battery. Overall. I was quite surprised by this attachment and glad I purchased it. I paid £29 direct from Amazon with Prime delivery. I believe when these were originally released. The rrp was £25.99 but were hard to find or limited to certain stores only. At £30 it is still a worthwhile purchase BUT I wouldn't pay any higher. The attachment is compatible with both Dualshock 4 V1 and V2 controller's It is not compatible with the PS3 Dualshock 3/Sixaxis or the PlayStation 5's Dualsense controller's

Had this in for a few days now and honestly can't recommend enough. Anyone looking at scuff pads should purchase this as it is a fraction of the price and works perfectly. Amazing LCD screen and easy to use functions/profile setup. It is a little fiddly to get on but fits great once on. Super for FPS games. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a pro quality controller without having to change their controller.

Bought this to game with and isnt easy to use if you okay “claw”. Ideal for someone new to gaming but for someone who has played claw for a long time, muscle memory is muscle memory.

I bought a fresh red PS4 pad to use on pc. I found this attachment but didn't even realise it existed. I stumbled upon it randomly and because it was an official Sony product I thought I'd give it a go. And the point of the pad purchase was because I play warzone on pc. But decided to go BACK to my roots and use a controller 🎮 So the attachment itself is a tad stiff to initially get in to the jack port. Which isn't a bad thing. Just keep the jack straight and slowly apply more force. Eventually it will pop in to place and it's an extremely snug fit. You'll see what I mean if you check the instructions beforehand. Perfect in fact. Feels solid. You can reprogram either of these buttons to any input of the controller and you can also have separate 3 profiles, for different games, which is handy. I however only use one profile. So the back button on the left is X which is jump. The right one is O circle, which is slide/crouch/prone. My friend uses this for melee which kinda makes sense as well but it's preference. But you can assign any inputs to either of the buttons. Anyway this does help with movement as you can jump and slide cancel without taking your thumbs off the sticks and maintain crosshair placement etc, but it takes some getting used to. New muscle memory. I'm still adjusting after a couple of weeks, I need to use the jump more during gun fights but it's improving slowly. And it is a bit bulky if I'm honest. Initially it felt so weird, but you adapt and now it's completely normal to hold. I find using L2 and R2 as ads and fire to be the optimal position for comfort while using this attachment. I highly recommend this as it's a cheaper solution instead of getting a scuf. Which are not cheap. For £23 or whatever it is, you can't really go wrong. Bravo 6, going dark ;)

If you already have a perfectly working DualShock 4 controller then this is a great way to add extra functionality to it for a low price. Since it is official it just simply works, it's easy to remap the paddles using the button on the back which has a nice OLED screen on it. You also get three profiles you can swap between easily. It's great for competitive games like COD where I have made the right paddle my jump button, this allows me to both jump and aim my gun at the same time as my right thumb stays on the thumbstick instead of being used to press the jump button on the controller as I press the right paddle on the back instead. My only gripe with this item is that I do have to adjust my grip on the controller as the paddles are a little bit bulky, thought I have adjusted I still find the controller without the paddles to be more comfortable. But that may be because I have played with the controller without the paddles for a lot longer than with. One other thing to mention is that it is quite hard to attach the paddles to the controller and does not feel natural, it brings concerns to the durability if you are constantly attaching the paddles then removing them (something people may do depending on if it is needed for the game they are playing).

This is sooooo well made, easy to use and adds that next level to gameplay without dropping $$$$ on a Scuff or other 3rd Party controller. Sure you need to modify your grip a little but once you play with it after a few days it's all good. Smaller hands may struggle a little, but otherwise I totally recommend this accessory.

Es un buen producto, en un primer momento no sabía si resultaría útil pero me ha sorprendido gratamente. Muy útil, 2 o 3 días y te adaptas perfectamente a las palancas traseras se configura muy fácil y para mi es muy útil en varios juegos. Lo único el precio está un poco elevado. Pero dada la poca disponibilidad de este producto lo he pagado y no me arrepiento. Me ha resultado muy cómodo y fácil de utilizar.
